    • A technique is presented for configuring at least one periodic operation in a wireless communication system comprising a plurality of wireless devices and a serving network serving the wireless devices. The periodic operation is selectively configurable at one of a shorter periodicity interval and a longer periodicity interval. A method implementation performed by the serving network comprising obtaining speed information indicative of the speed of one or more of the wireless devices in the wireless communication system and determining, based on the speed information, whether at least one of the one or more wireless devices is moving at a speed at or above a speed threshold. The method further comprises configuring, if it is determined that at least one of the one or more wireless devices is moving at a speed at or above the speed threshold, the at least one periodic operation with the shorter periodicity interval. The at least one periodic operation is at least one of a periodic transmission of a downlink signal and a periodic transmission of an uplink signal.

An exemplary method aspect (in the client), comprises the steps of preparing a session setup message comprising: i) setup information for at least one candidate TP, and ii) a preference order for setup of the at least one TP; transmitting the prepared session setup message towards the server; and receiving, in response to the transmitted session setup message, a setup response message comprising setup information pertaining exclusively to one TP selected for the connection. A further method aspect (in the server) comprises the steps of receiving the session setup message; selecting, depending on availability of the candidate TPs, the most preferred TP on the basis of the preference order; and transmitting, in response to the received session setup message, the setup response message.

An aspect is directed to an apparatus for selecting a Transport Block Size (TBS) for a transmitter of a communication system. The communication system supports variable Transmission Time Interval (TTI) lengths regarding the number of symbols to be transmitted in one TTI. The apparatus is configured to receive first information indicative of a TTI length, receive second information indicative of a number of reference symbols included in the TTI, decode, from the first information, the TTI length, and decode, from the second information, the number of reference symbols included in the TTI. The apparatus is further configured to calculate, based on the TTI length and based on the number of reference symbols included in the TTI, a number of data symbols included in the TTI, calculate, based on an allocation bandwidth and based on the number of data symbols included in the TTI, a number of data Resource Elements (REs) in the TTI, and select the TBS from a data structure, based on the calculated number of data REs.
