摘要： The invention concerns a method of manufacturing a metal ring (32) for use in a drive belt (3) for a continuously variable transmission including the process steps of: reducing the thickness of an annular metal hoop (14) while increasing its circumference length thus forming the ring (32) by plastic deformation and of heat treating the ring (32) to harden the material thereof, wherein after the process step of ring rolling has been completed the temperature of the ring (32) is kept below 600 degree Celsius for the remaining process step or steps of the manufacturing method, i.e. the cold work hardening of the material of the ring (32) resulting from the plastic deformation thereof is not removed prior to the said heat treatment thereof.
