摘要： A disk reproducing system comprising a pickup (1) for reading information from an information disk (2) on which data is recorded at a constant linear velocity, a disk motor (16) for turning the information disk (2), a digital signal processing means (7) for digitizing data according to the reproduction format of the disk (2), an interfacing means (19) for sending the digitized data to an external device, and a buffer memory (18) for storing temporarily the data, the system further comprising a means for detecting the linear velocity and traffic pitch of the disk (2) to determine a speed control reference value of the disk motor (16) from the detected linear velocity and traffic pitch and from a maximum diameter of a data recording region, whereby a highest reproduction velocity of the system can be obtained even on disks with different traffic pitches.

摘要： The invention relates to a method for playing back a recording medium (1), especially an optical recording disc, enabling faster access to titles. At least one address area is registered in the run-in area (4) of the recording medium (1), said address area containing at least one starting address of one the titles stored on the recording medium (1). The recording medium (1) is played back in a playback device (15) with a reading device (9). By reading the at least one address area, the at least one title starting address is converted into a starting time which precisely corresponds to a time unit and which is stored in a memory (13), wherein the starting time approximately corresponds to the playback duration of the recording medium (1) covering up to the addressed title start. In order to skip tracks in the reading device (9) on the addressed title start, the skip time is calculated directly on the basis of the corresponding starting time stored in the memory (13).

摘要： A servo control system provides adaptive compensation for a variety of tracking and seek problems found in disk drives. The servo control system is ideally implemented in digital form for accuracy, speed and compactness. A first embodiment includes two modes, a tracking (or position) mode and a seek (or velocity) mode, each mode employing a variety of compensation functions. A second embodiment includes a single comprehensive control system which functions during both tracking and seek operations.
