    • A method for classifying music is suggested comprising steps of providing music classification data (MCD), providing an unclassified piece of music (s) to be classified, deriving for each music class (cl, .. , cn) within said music classification data (MCD) a respective Gish distance value (Dl, .. , Dn), wherein said finite set (Δ) of a finite number (n) of Gish distance values (D1, .., Dn) is descriptive for the relation of said unclassified piece of music (s) to be classified with respect to said discrete and finite set (Γ) of a finite number (n) of music classes (cl, ..., cn). Alternatively, for a given piece of music (s) to be classified, music classification data (MCD) in the form of a n-tuple of at least three numbers are obtained which are representative for the mood of said piece of music (s). From said n-tuple of numbers of said music classification data (MCD) a pair of two dimensional coordinate values are determined which are representative for the mood of said piece of music (s).

    • An information processing apparatus is disclosed.
