    • The present invention relates to a fire detection system arranged for detecting fire by detecting a pressure drop in a detection conduit (15) caused by rupture of the detection conduit (15). The system comprises a detection fluid container (13) for holding a pressurized detection fluid, the detection conduit (15) which is connected to the detection fluid container (13), and a valve assembly controlling the supply of detection fluid from the detection fluid container (13) to the detection conduit (15). The valve assembly (17) is configured to assume: i) an open operating state, in which the valve assembly (17) permits fluid communication between the detection fluid container (13) and the detection conduit (15), wherein the valve assembly (17) comprises a holding member (41 a) upon which a pressure force exerted by pressurized fluid in the detection conduit (15) acts to maintain the valve assembly (17) in the open operating position, and ii) a closed state, in which the valve assembly (17) prevents fluid communication between the detection fluid container (13) and the detection conduit (15), wherein the valve assembly (17) is arranged for switching from the open operating state to the closed state upon a reduction of the pressure force exerted on the holding member (41 a) caused by said pressure drop in the detection conduit (15), such that outflow of detection fluid is stopped. The present invention also relates to a method of controlling such as fire detection system.

    • A low-pressure actuator (1) for use in a dry, low-pressure, pressurized-gas, fire control and suppression sprinkler system for delivering an extinguishing liquid to a fire is disclosed. The device is actuated by a rapid fall in the system gas pressure, whereupon it allows liquid to flow through to a sprinkler check valve, which, in turn, is actuated and provides liquid flow for distribution through a piping system to a plurality of interconnected sprinklers. One embodiment of the device includes a first diaphragm (18) which acts as a gas-liquid barrier, and a second diaphragm (23), which acts as a liquid flow barrier. When gas pressure in the sprinkler system drops below a predetermined set point, pressure equilibrium on the first diaphragm is upset causing the first diaphragm to move and allow a priming flow of liquid to the liquid outlet through a liquid by-pass (13), which is otherwise sealed. This also simultaneously causes the second diaphragm to move and allow a greater flow of liquid, which provides the main extinguishing liquid, to the liquid outlet. Embodiments of a low-pressure actuator with a pneumatic/electric double interlock (51, 52, 53, 54) system, which requires that two separate events, such as discharging air pressure from the sprinkler system, and an electrical detection, must occur in order for the sprinkler control valve to activate and allow water into the sprinkler system, wherein the low-pressure actuator further includes an electrical detector and a solenoid coil assembly, are also disclosed.

    • The subject of this invention is a sauna ventilation and fire prevention system which is built into the stove (1) as a single part belonging to it. The ventilation system includes, where required, a heat recovery unit (4), air inlet, circulation, and outlet ducts with ventilators (16 and 21) and air filters (22), outlet and inlet air impellers (17), air humidifier and mixture systems (19 and 20), condensed water removal system (12 and 14) and moisture sensor equipment (15) and operating equipment (3). The fire prevention system includes the fire extinguishing system (59), in which water is directed towards the location of the fire and/or its surrounding area by spray and/or by jet. The structure attached to the stove also includes an advance fire prevention system which monitors that the temperature of the surrounding area remains within a predetermined permitted range and which system, where necessary, limits the temperature of the stove to prevent the outbreak of fire.     • An actuator assembly for use in fire suppression systems for use in vehicle and industrial fire protection systems. The actuator assembly engages a cartridge of pressurized gas and releases the gas contained therein with a puncturing assembly. The actuator assembly includes a receptacle that controls the manner in which the actuator assembly and cartridge engage one another. The actuator assembly is configured for electrical and pneumatic actuation for rupturing the seal of the cartridge of pressurized gas. The actuator assembly has a housing that includes at least one inlet port that is coupled to a pressurized gas source, which is formed between a first chamber for electrical components sealed from the operative environment of the actuator assembly and a second chambers for the puncturing assembly. The actuator assembly allows for serial interconnection of multiple actuator assemblies for operation by a single source of pressurized gas.
