摘要： An apparatus and method is provided for treating injured muscles before, during, and/or after physical activity. Practicing the method involves pressing a plurality of pressure applicators against the skin proximate to a muscle for a sustained period of time. The pressure applicators pressed against the body can be either pins, support members, and/or any combination thereof. The support members may be secured to the therapeutic surface of a therapeutic body as to create a muscle support apparatus. In such an apparatus, the base of pressure applicator is secured to the therapeutic surface such that the distal end of the pressure applicator extends away from the therapeutic surface.

摘要： Группа изобретений относится к медицине, а именно к области акупунктурной рефлексотерапии. Способ заключается в том, что в одну из заданных, например, аурикулярных точек акупунктуры пациента вводят иглу с объемной, пластинчатой или кольцеобразной головкой, проведя ее под кожей, выводят свободный конец иглы из другой заданной точки и закрепляют на нем съемный фиксатор пластинчатой или объемной формы. Также фиксатор может быть выполнен несъемным, а образован загнутым свободным концом стержня иглы. Требуемый темп снижения избыточной массы тела обеспечивают путем воздействия на зоны указанных точек весом головки и/или фиксатора, и/или изменением площади их соприкосновения с указанными точками, и/или путем проградиентной корреляции интенсивности воздействия на эти точки. Для усиления воздействия используются шипы и подвески на головке и/или фиксаторе, а также рельефная и/или волнообразная поверхность стержня иглы. Предложенный способ и конструкции игл позволяют более эффективно воздействовать на выбранные точки акупунктуры и тем самым существенно снижать избыточную массу тела пациента или лечить его заболевания.

摘要： Intramuscular stimulation (IMS) pain relief therapy is facilitated by a hand held tool (1) which once positioned against a patient's skin can be controlled to automatically advance a needle (11) to penetrate the patient's flesh, reciprocate the needle (11) within the patient's flesh a predetermined number of times through a predetermined stroke, and retract the needle (11). The orifice allows substantially free passage of the needle (11) therethrough, and at the same time prevents bowing of the needle (11) as it is advanced, which is a primary source of patient pain. Automation and control of the needle penetration; reciprocation and retraction sequence reduces the amount of manual, and mental effort required on the part of the treating physician, thereby allowing physicians to perform IMS procedures more consistently effectively and efficiently. This leads to better results (increased pain relief); decreased procedure induced patient pain and tissue trauma; and reduced risk of repetitive strain injury to the treating physician.
