摘要： An athletic performance and entertainment device for use on footwear, for example, children shoes. More particularly, an entertainment device which can be attached to the tongue-area of a shoe for providing feedback to a user based on the user's performance during a selected physical activity. The user selects which activity he or she whishes to perform and presses the appropriate function button on the device. The wearer then performs the selected physical activity and the wearer's performance level is indicated by LEDs disposed on the device. A speaker may also be disposed on the device to provide audible feedback to the user. The device keeps track of improvements in performance by promoting the wearer through various award levels as performance increases, until all award levels have been mastered. A novel closure system according to the present invention allows the device of the present invention to be disposed on the tongue of an article of footwear so that the closure system does not obstruct the wearer's view of the device.

摘要： A shoe that conforms to foot contours and provides cushioning is comprised of a shoe sole and a shoe upper attached to the shoe sole. The shoe upper is comprised of an outer layer, an inner layer and a conforming layer therebetween, wherein a first portion of the conforming layer is comprised of viscoelastic gel and a second portion of the conforming layer is comprised of environmentally-responsive gel. The environmentally-responsive gel is preferably a temperature-responsive gel that will react to the heat emanating from a foot inserted into the shoe to express a liquid. The viscoelastic gel is preferably a soft, flowable gel that conforms to foot contours. The shoe may alternatively incorporate a thermally responsive polymer gel or a reversibly gelling polymer network which exhibits a dramatic change in viscosity in response to a change in environmental stimulus, such as temperature. The thermally responsive polymer gel will react to the heat generated by a foot inserted into the shoe to increase viscosity and provide the foot a measure of support.

摘要： A module (10) of the type having a light emitting diode (17) and a wafer battery (16) held in the case (11). The module has a case having a floor (12), a lighted end (21) and an LED supporting cavity (22) at the lighted end. An LED is supported in the case so that its lower conductor (20) is adjacent the floor and its upper conductor (19) is supported in a cantilevered manner from the transparent lens portion (18) of the LED. The module is thus intermittently lighted when the case is moved up and down but is turned off when the case is at rest.

Thus,the manufacturing process will be simplified and the stability of the reflective unit (2) will be improved.
