摘要： Stretch films which exhibit good puncture and impact resistance while also exhibiting resistance to defect propagation are desired. The films of the present invention have an ultimate stretch of at least 200 percent, a dart impact strength of at least about 700 gms/mil and a catastrophic failure stretch of at least 95 percent of the elongation to break value (CF of 5 or less). The films preferably comprise at least 3 layers and preferably comprise at least 50 percent by weight of polyethylene polymers.

摘要： The present invention provides an article formed by impregnating a fibrous structure with a compound, the compound including an aqueous dispersion, the dispersion having (a) at least one polymer selected from the group consisting of an ethylene-based thermoplastic polymer, a propylene-based thermoplastic polymer, and mixtures thereof; (b) at least one polymeric stabilizing agent; and (c) water; and removing at least a portion of the water from the impregnated fibrous structure. The present invention also provides a method of forming a stiffened textile. The method may include the steps of: forming a compound, the compound including an aqueous dispersion having (a) at least one polymer selected from the group consisting of an ethylene-based thermoplastic polymer, a propylene-based thermoplastic polymer, and mixtures thereof, (b) at least one polymeric stabilizing agent, and (c) water; impregnating a textile with the compound; and removing at least a portion of the water from the impregnated textile.

摘要： Film layers made from formulated polymer compositions are disclosed. Film layers made from such formulated compositions have surprisingly good (for example, low) water vapor transmission rates and are particularly useful for packaging dry goods such as cereal. The polymer compositions preferably have at least one homogeneous ethylene homopolymer and at least one heterogeneously branched ethylene polymer. The homogeneous ethylene homopolymer has a molecular weight much higher than that of the heterogeneously branched ethylene polymer, although the density of each is preferably higher than about 0.95 g/cm 3 .

摘要： The invention provides a composition comprising an ethylene/α-olefin/non-conjugated diene interpolymer, which has the following properties: an M z (abs)/M z (Conv) value greater than 1.35; an M z (BB)/M w (abs) value greater than 1.6; and a non-conjugated diene content less than 10 weight percent, based on the total weight of the interpolymer. The invention also provides a process for forming a crosslinked composition, said process comprising: (a) forming a polymeric admixture comprising at least the following: (A) an ethylene/α-olefin/non-conjugated diene copolymer rubber (B) which has the following properties: an M z (abs)/M z (Conv) value less than 1.3; an M z (BB)/M w (abs) value greater than 1.6, but less than 2.5; and an M w (abs) value less than 350,000 g/mole; and (B) a coupling amount of (i) at least one poly(sulfonyl azide) or (ii) at least one peroxide; and (b) heating the resulting admixture to a temperature at least the decomposition temperature of the crosslinking agent. The invention also provides a process for forming a shaped article, said process comprising: (a) forming a polymeric admixture comprise of at least one ethylene/α-olefin/non-conjugated diene interpolymer, at least one sulfur-based curative or organic peroxide-based crosslinking agent, and, optionally, a process oil, carbon blacks, additional inorganic fillers, organic fillers, cure accelerators, and/or foaming agents; (b) shaping the resulting admixture; (c) heating the resulting admixture to a temperature at least the decomposition temperature of the sulfur-based cure agent or the peroxide crosslinking agent.

In particular, the present invention relates to nonwoven webs having superior abrasion resistance and excellent softness characteristics. The nonwoven materials comprise monocomponent fibers having a surface comprising a polyethylene, said nonwoven material having a fuzz/abrasion of less than 0.7 mg/cm 3 . The present invention is also related to fibers having a diameter in a range of from 0.1 to 50 denier, said fibers comprising a polymer blend, wherein the polymer blend comprises: from 26 weight percent to 80 weight percent (by weight of the polymer blend) of a first polymer which is a homogeneous ethylene/α-olefin interpolymer having: a melt index of from 1 to 1000 grams/l0 minutes, and a density of from 0.870 to 0.950 grams/centimeter 3 , and from 74 to 20 percent by weight of a second polymer which is an ethylene homopolymer or an ethylene/α-olefin interpolymer having a melt index of from 1 to 1000 grams/ 10 minutes, and preferably a density which is at least 0.01 grams/centimeter 3 greater than the density of the first polymer.
