    • A no-spill cup (22) and valve assembly (31) which provides an seal against accidental liquid flow. The sucking action at the cup spout creates negative pressure against a valve member (37, 39) near the spout (14) having an opening therein, causing the valve member (37, 39) and opening to move off of a protruding member, thereby unblocking the opening in the valve. When the opening is unblocked, liquid can flow freely through the valve and spout. When not in use, the valve sits in a closed position, with the opening in the valve sitting on a protruding member and pressed against the protruding member's base, sealing off the opening in the valve assembly (31). The closed position provides a seal against fluid leakage during inadvertent spills. The cup assembly allows variable liquid flow rates by rotating the position of the valve assembly in the cover (11) of the cup.

    • A container lid construction minimizes liquid leakage from a seamed liquid container when outfitted thereupon. The container lid construction provides a rim- engaging construction, which when outfitted upon an upper container rim of the seamed liquid container forms a liquid leakage channel at the site of a stepped seam section of the seamed liquid container. The rim-engaging construction defines at least one air pocket construction in adjacency to the liquid leakage channel for enhancing pressure equalization within and without the seamed liquid container when the container lid construction is outfitted thereupon. The rim-engaging construction further includes at least two step-engaging sections that flank each air pocket construction for forming spaced liquid plugs within the liquid leakage channel. Together, the step-engaging sections, air pocket construction(s), and liquid plugs minimize liquid leakage.

    • A device and system that can perform bi-directional gas and fluid communication, thereby preventing the accidental spill and splash of sloshing liquids through the sip-hole orifice of a liquid container and/or the sip-hole orifice of its lid, but that still allows liquid to flow through the sip-hole. This is achieved by cutting into the sip-hole, extending the sip-hole and creating a tubular flow-path or labyrinth flow-path that can channel and direct the flow of liquid into a controlled and desired flow and rate via an inlet configured to do so, and by adding a removable plug. These elements help to buffer and deflect sloshing liquid thereby minimizing or preventing the accidental release of liquid, and in many cases improving the purposeful flow of liquid back into the container.
