摘要： The disclosure provides a laminate comprising décor paper, wherein the décor paper comprises a self-dispersing pigment having an isoelectric point of at least about 8, more typically about 8 to about 10, comprising an inorganic particle, more typically a pigment, having a silica treatment and an outermost treatment prepared by sequentially by (a) hydrolyzing an aluminum compound or basic aluminate to deposit a hydrous alumina surface; and (b) adding a dual-functional compound comprising: an anchoring group that attaches the dual-functional compound to the pigment surface, and a basic amine group comprising a primary, secondary or tertiary amine. Typically, the inorganic particle is titanium dioxide, TiO 2 . The décor papers comprising the self-dispersing pigments are useful in making paper laminates.

摘要： The disclosure provides a dispersion for making decor paper having improved optical performance without negatively impacting mechanical strength comprising a TiO 2 particle slurry comprising a treated TiO 2 particle having a surface area of at least about 30 m 2 /g, and a cationic polymer; wherein the treatment comprises an oxide of silicon, aluminum, phosphorus or mixtures thereof; and the treatment is present in the amount of at least 15% based on the total weight of the treated titanium dioxide particle; paper pulp; and a cationic polymer; wherein the cationic polymer in the slurry and the cationic polymer in the dispersion are compatible; wherein for equal optical performance, the amount of treated TiO 2 particle in the dispersion is reduced by about 10% when compared to a dispersion not comprising the treated TiO 2 particle of (a). These dispersions are useful in making decor paper that may be used in paper laminates.

摘要： The present invention provides a method for forming a pattern on a surface of a board and a pattern-formed board formed by the method for forming the pattern on the surface of the board, wherein the method comprises the steps of: arranging a plurality of hot-fixes such that the plurality of the hot-fixes are disposed in a predetermined form; maintaining a hot-fix pattern unit, which has the form of the arranged hot-fixes, and adhering the hot-fix pattern unit to a dome-shaped part of the hot-fix pattern unit with an adhesive tape such that the hot-fix pattern unit is arranged in an opposite form thereof; disposing a hot-fix adhesive layer of the hot-fix pattern unit adhered to the adhesive tape on a thin plate such as timber, and applying heat to the thin plate such that the hot-fix adhesive layer is attached to the thin plate, and then allowing the hot-fix pattern unit to be attached to the thin plate; applying an adhesive to the backside of the thin plate to which said hot-fix pattern unit is attached, and allowing the thin plate to be attached to an opening and closing board; and performing surface treatment on the opening and closing board to which the thin plate is attached. The disclosed process hereby produces a laminate whose outer surface is modified with the fluorourethane and the cleanability, oil repellency, and abrasion resistance of such a laminate is improved.

摘要： A method of manufacturing a resin-impregnated printed paper includes applying printed indicia to a paper substrate, impregnating the printed paper with resin and thereafter treating the resin-impregnated printed paper to reduce its water content and to at least partially cure the impregnating resin, whereby to produce a further cured resin-impregnated printed paper. The reduction of water is effected by irradiation with near infrared (NIR) radiation. The paper and/or printed indicia contain one or more pigments selected for their relatively low absorption of NIR radiation and/or a plurality of pigments selected for their mutual relatively low differences in absorption of NIR radiation whereby to minimize localised blistering of the resin arising from any NIR absorption by the pigments. Also disclosed is a décor paper and a laminate.
