摘要： A novel design of filters for removing iron rust particulates and other polymeric sludge from refinery and chemical process streams that are paramagnetic in nature is provided The performance of these filters is greatly enhanced by the presence of the magnetic field induced by magnets. Basically, the filter comprises a high-pressure vessel with means to support the plurality of magnets in the form of bars or plates that are encased in stainless steel tubes or columns. Filters with various configurations are disclosed for accommodating the removal of contaminants from the process streams of different industries, with high efficiency for contaminants removal, simple construction, low operational and maintenance costs, and low hazardous operation

摘要： The invention is in the field of biogas production. In particular the invention is directed to a process and apparatus for the conversion of carbon and hydrogen containing materials into biogas (viz. a gas stream comprising CH4) containing material and subsequent purification of the resulting gas. According to the invention biogas is produced from carbon and hydrogen containing starting material. The unpurified biogas is subsequently purified by subjecting it to a filtration step, which comprises feeding said biogas to at least one cyclone providing cyclone action, at least one water filter where said biogas is washed with water and at least one dry filter where said biogas is dry-filtered, thus producing a purified biogas, followed by subjecting said purified biogas to compression, preferably using a water ring compressor, followed by feeding the compressed gas to a water-gas separator.

Using an instrument to measure particles and droplets in-process allows monitoring of the various operations to optimize performance. Such measurement can also be used during crude oil blending to detect asphaltene precipitates that can cause fouling and can be used for monitoring other fouling streams.

摘要： A method is taught for producing diesel fuels of high cetane value from a triglyceride feedstock, comprising pretreating the triglyceride feedstock by thermal cracking to partially convert the triglycerides and produce a middle distillates stream, and catalytically hydrotreating the middle distillate fraction to produce high cetane value diesel fuels. A biomass-derived diesel fuel is also taught having sulphur content below 10 ppm, a cetane-value of at least 70, a cloud point below 0oC and a pour point of less than -4 oC. A blended diesel fuel is also taught comprising 5 to 20 vol.% of the biomass-derived diesel fuel of the present invention and 80 to 95 vol.% of a petroleum diesel, based on total volume of the blended diesel fuel.
