    • The present invention discloses a mobile electronic device, having a radio receiver (28), an amplifier (24) and an audio connector (20) for connecting to headphone (2). Said audio connector (2) comprises at least one first contact and at least one second contact, wherein said first contact is connected to ground and to said radio receiver (28), and said second contact is connected to said amplifier (24). The electronic device is characterized by a band-pass filter component (26) interconnected between said first contact and said radio receiver (28). So that only a predefined frequency range can pass to the radio receiver, preventing cross talk interference from transmitters operated in proximity.

    • This invention provides a novel meethod for ensuring the phase continuity in transitions from a frmae coded by a waveform matching coder to a frame coded using a parametric speech coder in hybrid speech coders. In the proposed mathod, a phase estimate is derived from a reconstructed excitation signal of a linear prediction (LP) analysis. For the succeeding frame modeled by a parametric coder, conventional methods are then used for interpolation of the phase characteristic. By using the proposed method discontinuities due to phase errors are avoided in the reconstructed speech signal. Further, the invention provides a method for detecting misalignments of succeding coded by waveform matching speech coding and parametric speech coding. Additionally, communication terminals, a network device and a system are introduced which are able to operate the presented methods.

    • An odor analysis has to be made before any device is capable of synthesizing an odor. Generally, an odor analysis has to result in an abstract device-independent odor representation that can easily be processed by various devices. Of course, this representation has to be detailed enough to the basis for a synthesis of an odor by chemical processes. The present invention provides a method for coding, processing (e.g. modifying/adapting) and decoding odor. The method according to the invention allows to code a representation of an odor in a digital form or odor information, respectively. This odor information can fulfil the demand of an abstract device-independent odor representation whereas the odor information shows a form which is adequate for communicating the odor information even over a wireless communication network although the bandwidth of wireless communication network is limited and usually the sensing and coding of odor produce a great amount of digital information. Additionally, the coding of the odor information allows also a fast and reasonable access to the comprised data for adapting and manipulating. According to further aspects of the invention, a device for sensing coding and communicating odor and a device for receiving, decoding and generating odor is provided.

    • The present invention is related to an error handling in transmission of information units in radio links and in particular it is related to an error handling using automatic repeat request (ARQ) and transmission of information units in mobile communication. Type II hybrid ARQ schemes introduce a set of consequent code ratings. Information is first sent with high code rating, i.e. little redundancy, and if one erroneous unit is requested to be retransmitted, additional code bits will be added for the following transmission to enhance the reliability of the retransmission. The fine code rating granularity results in a higher link throughput but in higher normalised packet delays as well. To reduce the access delay of packet data services, the present invention uses different code ratings according to type II hybrid ARQ for different erroneous information units selected from a formatted block of information units, that have been transmitted, are selected and the set of selected erroneous information units is divided into a set of n subsets encoded with n code ratings. Advantageously, the retransmission of portions of the formatted block with different code ratings enhances the reliability of the retransmission.
