    • The apparatus and method for sealing at least two surfaces (20, 22) includes a sealing member (12) with an attachment portion (14) fixed to one of the surfaces, and a seal portion (16) connected to the attachment portion. The seal portion (16) of the sealing member (12) includes a deformable segment (18) that may be received and retained by a receiving aperture (24) that is defined by at least one of the surfaces (20, 22). The receiving aperture (24) may further be defined by at least one engagement member (34, 36) extending from at least one of the surfaces (20, 22). At least one coating (42), such as paint, may also be located on a side of the sealing member (12) opposite the surfaces (20, 22). The seal may be engaged and disengaged without requiring reapplication of the coating (42). Thus, the present invention provides an effective technique for sealing parts of an object, such as sealing a door, panel, cover or the like to a surrounding structure.
