摘要： A confectionary item dispenser include a dispenser housing having a dispenser housing opening, a reservoir within the dispenser housing having a reservoir chute aligned with the dispenser housing opening, and a dispenser shield disposed within the dispenser housing and movable so that a dispenser shield opening can align with the dispenser housing opening and the reservoir chute at a dispensing position to dispense a confectionary item. An indeterminate outcome actuation mechanism with an actuation mechanism input device causes the dispenser shield to move between the dispensing position and a non-dispensing position when the actuation mechanism input device is displaced such that the dispenser shield may be disposed in one of the dispensing position and the non-dispensing position when the actuation mechanism input device is displaced so that a confectionary item may or may not be dispensed each time.

摘要： Methods and apparatuses provide a vending machine with a positioning system connected to a dispensing chassis. The dispensing chassis includes a retractable partition. The positioning system moves the dispensing chassis to receive product from a shelf of the vending machine and closes the retractable partition. The positioning system moves the dispending chassis and product to a dispensing position. A dispensing door is raised allowing a user to remove the product. With the door raised the retractable partition and chassis prevent unauthorized user access to other products within the vending machine.

In some embodiments, the systems include the following: a product housing positioned in a vehicle, the product housing including an exposed surface having a product delivery opening; a removable inventory cartridge; a product dispensing mechanism including a product dispensing opening, the product dispensing mechanism being configured for dispensing a product from the removable inventory cartridge in the product housing to the product dispensing opening; a product delivery conduit including a first end and a second end, the first end being joined with the product dispensing opening and the second end defining a product delivery opening, which is formed in the exposed top surface of the product housing and positioned in a passenger compartment of the vehicle; and an lifting mechanism positioned within the product delivery conduit for mechanically lifting the product dispensing opening to the product delivery opening.

摘要： A card dispensing cassette includes a housing in which cards are stacked. A dispense outlet is provided in the housing through which cards are laterally dispensed from the cassette. A card retainer, cooperating with the dispense outlet, is slidably mounted to the cassette for substantially lateral movement between a closed position in which cards cannot be dispensed and an open position in which cards can be dispensed. The card retainer has a retaining lip which engages any cards protruding through the dispense outlet when the card retainer moves to its closed position so as to return those cards into the cassette.

摘要： A local computer system has local database, application programs that modify the local database, an a transaction manager that stores audit records in a local audit trail reflecting those application program modifications to the local database. A remotely located computer system has a backup database. A remote data duplication facility (RDF) is partially located in the local computer system and partially in the remote computer for maintaining virtual synchronization of the backup database with the local database. The RDF includes an extractor process executed by said local computer system, and a receiver process and a plurality of updater processes executed by the remote computer system. The extractor process extracts audit records from a local audit trail and transmits those records to the receiver process. The receiver process distributes the audit records into one or more image trail files that are associated with a particular updater process. Each updater process reads the audit records in its assigned image trail file and initiates redo operations of database modifications denoted in at least a subset of the audit records against the backup database. Each image trail file has a corresponding image trail buffer that is used to accumulate a number of audit records before they are stored in the corresponding image trail file. Before an updater process applies an audit record against the backup database, it requests from the receiver process the status of the transaction associated with the audit record. Status audit records are stored in a transaction status table as well as in a master image trail file. The RDF system herein described provides a method and system for assuring that each audit record is preserved in the system in the event a failure occurs to any of the processes in the RDF.

摘要： An apparatus for adapting a conventional mechanical cigarette vending machine having an upper tier of magazines and a lower tier of magazines, a first shelf for supporting a primary stack of cigarettes and a second shelf for supporting a reserve stack of cigarettes, to dispense cigarette packages containing one-half the number of cigarettes in a conventional package of cigarettes.The apparatus consists of three elements: an L-shaped insert designed to be attached to the pusher plate for moving the reserve stack of cigarettes into the vending position, a second insert designed to be attached by means of clips to the vertical wall of the forward portion of the magazine, and a clip element designed to be attached to the floor of this magazine below the reserve stack of cigarettes. This apparatus maintains the stack of packages of cigarettes, containing one-half the number of cigarettes in a normal package, in stacked relationship. The clip prevents the accidental vending of more than one package of cigarettes at a time.
