    • The invention relates to an iris device (1) for optical imaging systems (71), comprising an aperture arrangement (5) and to a medical imaging system (72) comprising a sensor (15), in particular a camera (15a). Conventional iris devices (1) known from the art unavoidably suffer a necessary trade-off between the depth of field and the amount of light transmitted through the optical system (71), i.e. in particular the amount of light incident on the sensor (15). This disadvantage results from the fact that iris devices (Wo one) of the art transmit or reject light in the same way for all wavelengths (43), i.e. show a spectrally flat transmission property. The disadvantages of prior art iris devices (1) are overcome by the present invention by providing an aperture arrangement (5) which comprises simultaneously at least two apertures (5a) coaxially arranged with respect to a light-transmission direction (70), each of the at least two apertures (5a) limiting light in a different spectral band (49) of the at least two discrete non-overlapping spectral bands (49). The inventive medical imaging system (72) solves the above disadvantages by further comprising at least one inventive iris device (1).

    • An interchangeable camera lens includes a main barrel for holding a diaphragm and optical elements, wherein the optical elements define an optical axis (A), a diaphragm rotating ring, rotatable by way of a rotational movement about the optical axis (A), for setting the diaphragm to different f-number values, and a click-stop device. The click-stop device interacts with the diaphragm rotating ring in such a way that the click-stop device is effective in an active work position and the diaphragm rotating ring is therefore rotatable in a stepped manner. The click-stop device is ineffective in an inactive work position and the diaphragm rotating ring is therefore continuously rotatable, wherein the click-stop device comprises a click-stop element seated on a pressure element. The click-stop element is pressable into click-stop grooves by the pressure of the pressure element to enable a step-wise rotation of the diaphragm rotating ring in the active work position. Means are provided for selectively activating and deactivating the click-stop device, wherein the means comprise a movement element which is arranged between the pressure element and the click-stop element and a switching element is assigned to the movement element to fix the movement element in such a detachable manner that the click-stop element is pressable into a click-stop groove by the pressure element in the active work position and not pressable into the click-stop groove by the pressure element in the passive work position.

    • An automatic diaphragm apparatus in a lens in which an aperture diameter is varied in accordance with a set diaphragm value, set by a diaphragm set ring in a first section from the maximum aperture to a predetermined intermediate aperture. The aperture diameter is kept constant regardless of the set diaphragm value of the diaphragm set ring in a second section, from the predetermined intermediate aperture to the minimum aperture. The apparatus includes a diaphragm data transmission member in the form of an arc shape lever having one end which pivots on the diaphragm set ring at an offset position from the optical axis. On the other end, a diaphragm data transmission projection is provided. The apparatus also includes a cam mechanism which is provided between the diaphragm data transmission lever and an immovable portion of the lens. The cam mechanism is for holding the position of the diaphragm data transmission projection in a constant position when the diaphragm set ring is rotated in the first section. The cam mechanism is also for rotating the diaphragm data transmission projection together with the diaphragm set ring when the diaphragm set ring is rotated in the second section.

    • A diaphragm control device for a lens exchangeable type camera includes diaphragm driving means providing a uniform speed over the entire diaphragm control range, so that accurate diaphragm control is achieved even in the vicinity of a fully open aperture value. The start position of the diaphragm drive means is determined such that the diaphragm control member of an exchangeable lens is engaged by a stopper to define a fully open aperture position in the course of return movement of the diaphragm drive means to the start position. A coupling spring coupling the diaphragm drive means with a diaphragm control member of a camera body as an integral unit is deformed to allow separation of the diaphragm drive means from the diaphragm control member of the camera body so that the diaphragm drive means can return to the start position after the engagement of the stopper with the diaphragm control member of the exchangeable lens. The loaded coupling spring serves, in cooperation with a stop-down drive spring, to accelerate the driving movement of the diaphragm driving means sharply, so that the driving speed is substantially uniform after the diaphragm drive means and the diaphragm control member of the camera body are again integrally intercoupled due to depletion of the stored energy of the coupling spring.

    • A camera comprises a camera body and first and second lens assemblies interchangeably insertable into the camera body. Each lens assembly has a displaceable actuator, a diaphragm adjustable between a maximum aperture and a minimum aperture value responsive to displacement of the actuator and a transducer for generating a first signal representative of the displacement of the actuator. In the camera body, there is generated a second signal representative of the desired aperture value of the diaphragm for correct exposure. The first and second signals are compared and the actuator of the lens assembly inserted in the camera body is displaced responsive to the comparison to stop down the diaphragm from the maximum aperture value toward the minimum aperture value until the first and second signals assume a predetermined relationship. The diaphragm of the second lens assembly is maintained at the maximum aperture value during an initial portion of the displacement of the actuator. Preferably, the initial portion of the actuator displacement is sufficient to compensate for the deviation in aperture value, maximum aperture value, and minimum aperture between the first and second lens assemblies.
