摘要： A method dispenses and/or aspirates a predetermined volume of fluid from a chamber. The chamber includes a lower portion containing fluid and an upper portion containing gas. The method includes measuring an initial pressure in the upper portion and introducing or evacuating a known quantity of gas into or out of the upper portion. The volume of gas in the upper portion is determined based on the volume of gas introduced or evacuated from the upper portion and a measured change in pressure in the upper portion. An upper portion target pressure that will dispense or aspirate a predetermined volume of fluid is determined. A controllable valve is opened while the pressure in the upper portion of the chamber is monitored. Once the target pressure is reached, the predetermined volume of fluid has been dispensed or aspirated, and the controllable valve is then closed.

An intermediate valve (3) is positioned between an interior part of the first chamber (4) and an interior part of the second chamber (5). The intermediate valve (3) includes a valve seat plate (7) having at least one opening (8) and a valve flapper plate (9) having at least one flap (10) for covering the at least one opening (8) in the valve seat plate (7). The at least one flap (10) moves to an open position allowing the liquid product to flow from the interior space of first chamber (4) to the interior space of the second chamber (5) when the first chamber (4) is moved in a first longitudinal direction and moves to a closed position limiting flow of the liquid product when the first chamber (4) is moved in an opposite second longitudinal direction.

The metering head also includes a ventilation channel separate from the discharge opening and having an inlet valve that opens when there is an underpressure in the metering channel in relation to the environment.

The rotating fastener mechanism may be rotatable, such that, when a rotation occurs, a first bin drops fasteners to the fastener feeder and a second bin receives fasteners from an adjacent fastener chamber of the fastener housing.
