    • A beaded soffit panel and related method for buildings and the like includes a plurality of generally flat, imperforate base portions shaped to enclose at least a portion of the soffit when the soffit panel is mounted in a generally horizontal orientation under the eave. A plurality of generally M-shaped, contoured beads extend between the base portions, and have oppositely inclined sidewalls with center walls therebetween to create a decorative appearance on the soffit panel. A plurality of narrow vent slits extend through the exterior faces of the bead sidewalls at a predetermined acute angle to define angled tabs that extend inwardly, whereby when the soffit panel is installed, vision through the vent slits from a position generally underneath the eave is substantially blocked by the angled tabs.

    • A self-registering roof ventilation system comprised of a panel including flanged lateral edges. At least one flanged lateral edge has a registration tab for registering with an adjacent panel. The panel is installed on top of roof framing members prior to the addition of roof sheathing so that the flanged lateral edges can be secured between the roof framing members and the roof sheathing. The panel in combination with the roof sheathing creates a vent channel for channeling air from soffit vents along the underside of the roof sheathing and out of the attic through a ridge vent. The panel may further comprises a baffle flap with a living hinge that is adjustable to any pitched roof. The baffle flap forms a barrier to stop insulation from the attic from getting into the eave space and obstructing the soffit vents. Additional panels can be added to extend the length of the vent channel.

    • An improved roof edge ventilation strip serving as a starter strip to underlay the first course of shingling along a roof line. The roof edge ventilation strip comprises a roofing panel which is, in use, at substantially the same angle to the vertical as the roof to which it is attached. The material of the ventilation strip is wavy or corrugated for providing added strength. A horizontal soffit section of the ventilation strip has louvers which add strength to the ventilation strip and permit a ladder to be leaned against the strip outer edge. A vertical fascia section provides for fastening the ventilation strip in abutment to a vertical side of a house or a building. An alternate embodiment comprises a protruding drip edge to insure water run-off away from the house.

    • A soffit construction is set forth for use under the eave of a roof overhang on a building. A lengthwise soffit board (one or more serially arranged) are placed parallel to and at the top end of the outside wall under the cave. There is a first outside soffit board which is parallel to an inside soffit board. The two boards in series are arranged to define a gap. The two soffit boards define parallel edges to enable a vent strip to be snapped between the two edges. The vent strip engages the board's edges to position a covering in the gap with a set of perforations there to enable air flow up into the roof for ventilation purposes.

    • A ridge vent comprising a pair of opposing vent parts each fabricated from a plurality of stacked, interconnected layers of a corrugated plastic sheet material and a top panel extending between and connected to the opposing vent parts, with the entire assembled ridge vent being rolled into a spiral or coil, and secured in that configuration for later installation on a roof. The assembled ridge vent is rolled into the spiral configuration from an initially planar configuration by engaging a leading end of the ridge vent and rolling the ridge vent onto a drum or mandrel to form a tight, uniform spiral. The rolled vent can then be labeled and banded or packaged. The fabrication process from bulk rolls of sheet material to packaged roof vents can be substantially continuous and automated. Roof vents of various lengths or widths can be manufactured with only minor adjustments or substitutions in the fabrication equipment. The ridge vent is installed by placing the roll on the peak of the roof with the free end of the spiral extending over the top of the spiral and oriented away from the direction of installation. The blank is unrolled to expose a portion of the ridge vent, which is fastened to the roof. This process is repeated until the desired length is installed. Foam end caps and air deflectors optionally may be installed.
