    • A method for installing railway tracks onto ballast beds avoiding the need for installing any type of auxiliary track. The method comprises successive stages to be carried out after having located the sleepers onto the ballast bed, consisting of fixing and laying of a pair of rails from a mini train, for the transport of the rails with the fastening and traction of same up to their complete unloading, the operation being guided by means of a discharge wagon; supporting the rails on rollers for the longitudinal movement thereof; cutting, squaring and fixing the adjacent ends to the consecutive rails; raising the rail with the help of a crane, and removing the rollers; partial fastening of the track and placement of the rollers for the next cycle, and removing the tractor from the mini train, and the final fastening of the rails.

    • The invention relates to a gantry crane of a machine, for the exchange of sleepers on a track, which may be displaced in a machine longitudinal direction on crane tracks. Two crane buggies on the gantry crane, at a separation from each other in the machine transverse direction are embodied such as to be displaced relative to the crane chassis by means of a displacement drive for altering the gauge. The corresponding crane tracks may be adjusted in the track transverse direction by drives to change the gauge.

Mounted on the loading cars are a plurality of rail supports which are spaced from each other longitudinally in direction of the frame and respectively rotatably mounted on support columns. Each rail support includes a separate pivot drive for swinging the rail support about a vertical axis between a receiving position in which the rail support extends perpendicular to the longitudinal axis and an idle position in which the rail support extends in direction of the longitudinal axis, whereby the position of the rail support in each end position is automatically secured by a locking mechanism once the swinging motion is concluded.

    • A mobile apparatus for loading and transporting an assembled track section and for laying the track section on a track bed comprises a track section hoisting device comprising an elongated carrier frame extending in the longitudinal direction of the track bed, pairs of lifting jacks spaced from each other in said direction, and drives for vertically adjusting the lifting jacks between a retracted position and an extended position in which the lifting jacks support the carrier frame on the track bed. An elongated transport car for supporting an assembled track section and the hoisting device is movable in this direction independently of the hoisting device. The elongated carrier frame and transport car each are comprised of two parts connected by a pivot between their opposite ends for pivoting the parts relative to each other about a vertical axis. Track-bound undercarriages and vertically adjustable off-track undercarriages are arranged adjacent each end and the pivot of the transport car, and one of the pairs of lifting jacks is arranged adjacent the pivot of the carrier frame.
