摘要： A tufted article (e.g., an artificial turf panel) having a backing and a plurality of tufts extending through the backing. The plurality of tufts are distributed among a plurality of patterned regions. Each patterned region has at least one tuft of the plurality of tufts. The tufts of each patterned region differ from the tufts of at least one other patterned region of the tufted article in at least one of color, pile height, yarn type, or yarn density. At least one patterned region creates a longitudinal discontinuity in the color pattern of the tufted article. The tufted article does not have a seam. Complementary side edges of the tufted articles can be secured together to form at least a portion of the surface covering without the need for cutting or the use of inlay components.

摘要： The invention provides for a method of manufacturing artificial turf (1000). The method includes creating a polymer mixture, such as polymer mixture (400), where the polymer mixture is at least a three-phase system. The polymer mixture includes a first polymer, a second polymer and a compatibilizer. The first polymer is a polyamide (PA) and the second polymer is a polyethylene (PE). The first polymer is included in an amount of 0.125 percent to 5 percent by weight, the second polymer is included in an amount of 60 percent to 97 percent by weight and the compatibilizer is included in an amount of 0.375 percent to 15 percent by weight. The first polymer and the second polymer are immiscible, and the first polymer forms polymer beads surrounded by the compatibilizer within the second polymer.

摘要： A stitch distribution control system for a tufting machine for controlling placement of yarns being fed to the needles of the tufting machine by yarn feed mechanisms to form a desired pattern. A backing material is fed through the tufting machine at an increased stitch rate as the needles are shifted according to calculated pattern steps. A series of loopers or hooks engage and pick loops of yarns from the needles. The yarn feed mechanisms further can be controlled so that selected loops of yarns can be back-robbed so as to be hidden from view in the finished patterned tufted article.

The invention also pertains to a device for applying this method.

The yarn feed mechanism will be controlled to create a tension in selected loops of yarns, to cause the backing material to be pulled against the bias or spring force applied by the backing support toward the needle plate of the tufting machine to create tufts of different pile heights.

摘要： An insulated composite fabric has an inner fabric layer, an outer fabric layer, and an insulating-filler layer enclosed there between. The insulating-filler layer is a textile fabric with at least one raised surface. One side of the insulating-filler layer comprises a first surface with relatively high pile, including regions of no pile or relatively low pile interspersed among regions of relatively high pile. The other side of the insulating-filler layer comprises a second surface with relatively high pile, including regions of no pile or relatively low pile interspersed among regions of relatively high pile. Interconnecting piles are formed with regions of the relatively high pile of the first pile surface and regions of the relatively high pile of the second pile surface.

The dispersion has a viscosity of ≦1500 mPa·s and the viscosity of the coating composition is 6000 to 7000 mPa·s.
