    • The present invention relates to a nonwoven fabric for cleaning and to a production method for the same. Provided is a nonwoven fabric for cleaning and a production method therefor, comprising: a raw-material supply step in which between 80 and 90 parts by weight of cotton fibre and between 10 and 20 parts by weight of synthetic fibre are introduced; a step in which the introduced raw materials are mixed by using a blowing and scutching machine; a step in which a web is produced in the form of a sheet by using a carding machine to process the mixed raw materials; a step in which a fibrous web is produced by layering a plurality of the webs and then spraying a water jet so as to join the plurality of webs to each other; and a heat-treatment step in which the fibrous web is subjected to hot drying, and the synthetic fibre is softened and the bond with the cotton fibre is strengthened. Also provided is a production method for the nonwoven fabric. According to the present invention, a nonwoven fabric for cleaning can be provided which maintains the water absorbency and the oil absorbency while markedly increasing the tensile strength of the cotton fibre.

    • An improved finishing treatment for pile carpets is described. The improvement lies in providing a method and apparatus for producing a controlled manner, uniform and unidirection pile lean, and to stabilize the pile lean with that orientation to restrict reversal of the pile lean during actual use of the carpet on the floor. One method of the invention is to transport the pile carpet past a pre-orientation brush or roller, through a pair of compression rollers that cause the pile to lean in the trailing direction whilst subjecting the pile to a compression cycle. The improved treatment may be applied to both cut and loop pile carpets and may find application in carpet manufacture, making the carpet resistant to pile reversal in use and reducing the propensity of the carpet to shade in an objectionable manner.

    • A device for finishing woven denim textiles is described which, proceeding from unfinished goods, is supposed to be brought to predetermined reference values for finished width, skew and woof thread density. The device is supposed to be designed for continuous operation for regulating all three reference values. According to the invention, a stretching device, such as a rack or a loop dryer, and a shrinkage system for continuous throughput of the woven denim textile, are arranged one after the other. Directly behind the stretching device, particularly, at the same time, behind the shrinkage system, a single measuring device, preferably as an optical detector having a digital camera, is provided. The measuring device is designed, at the same time, for detecting the actual values of finished width, skew and woof thread density, and is supposed to be connected, in control circuits, with devices for achieving the reference values.

    • The invention relates to a silk velvet textile and the method of manufacturing the same. Spun silk or pure silk is worked on an ordinary pile loom or knitting machine to produce a silk textile having the luster, touch or texture characteristic of silk so that such textile can be used for wide variety of velvet goods to meet the consumers' needs for upmarket products. Spun silk or pure silk is subjected to a twisting process to be followed by a pasting process or steaming process for 10 to 20 minutes before feeding said spun silk or pure silk is worked on by an ordinary pile loom or knitting machine. The texture such as fabric or jersey is dipped in lukewarm water for a predetermined period of time to remove paste for the texture to shirink such that the shrinking texture ground fastens the piles.
