    • A supporting means of a trough has a lever assembly with a base lever and a vibration lever respectively rotatably connected together at lower ends thereof by a common connecting shaft. The base lever is rotatably supported through a first shaft by a frame. The vibration lever is rotatably connected through a second shaft with the trough. The vibration lever is swingably held through spring means by the base lever. The direction in which the object on the trough is conveyed is reversed by rotating the lever assembly partly around the first shaft of the base lever so as to change the angle of inclination of the lever assembly with regard to the lengthwise direction of the trough between a first angle “A” at which the object on the trough moves in a certain direction and a second angle “B” at which the object moves in an opposite direction.

    • An article carrying apparatus is capable of inhibiting a force that acts on the apparatus due to vibration being applied to its carry section in order to carry an article. The article carrying apparatus includes: a carry section for restricting, to a circumferential direction, a carrying direction in which an article is carried; a cam mechanism to which a driving force is input from an input shaft and that is for applying a vibration to the carry section by transmitting, to the carry section, an oscillating motion having at least a circumferential direction component in the circumferential direction, wherein the vibration causes the article to be carried in the circumferential direction; and a balancer for inhibiting a force that acts on the input shaft due to the cam mechanism applying the vibration to the carry section.

The conveyor drive comprises a clutch/brake assembly which is selectively activated for moving the trough at a first speed in a first direction and selectively deactivated when moving the trough at a second speed in an opposite direction. There is further provided a method of conveying material comprising sensing a position of a trough, activating a clutch/brake assembly when the trough is at a first position for moving the trough at a first speed in a first direction, and deactivating a clutch/brake assembly when the trough is at a second position for moving the trough at a second faster speed in a second opposite direction to the first direction.

    • Improvements for an incinerator system including double reburn tunnels, an excitor within a reburn tunnel, a choker for closing off part of a reburn tunnel, a grate near the incinerator's inlet to permit the drying and initial combustion of refuse, an ash scoop which remains out of the water during most of its operation. The use of dual reburn tunnels, along with a damper that permits the closure of at least one of them, permits the efficient and environmentally acceptable utilization of the main incinerator chamber even with minimal refuse contained there. With less refuse, only one reburn unit operates; it will still have sufficient heat and throughput to maintain, with minimal auxiliary fuel, the temperatures needed for complete combustion. An excitor, or solid stationary object placed within the reburn tunnel, permits the retention and reflection of the heat generated by the burning to assure complete combustion of all hydrocarbons within the reburn unit. Additionally, the air utilized in the reburn unit may enter through the excitor for the efficient distribution and concomitant combustion.
