摘要： A base pad for supporting an appliance during assembly and shipping is provided. The pad has a pair of endpieces, each having portions for supporting the weight of an appliance, a pair of crosspieces connected to the endpieces to form a substantially rectangular base, and wrapping substantially covering the weight supporting portions of the endpieces. In addition to providing strength, the wrapping may also help hold the crosspieces and endpieces together. The endpieces are formed of a low density material, such as expanded polystyrene and the wrapping is formed of a medium to high density material such as kraft paper. The combination of the crosspieces formed of a low density material and the medium to high density wrapping material provides an optimum combination of strength and cushioning.

摘要： A paperboard pallet having a trapezoidal profile is disclosed, which comprises two outer stringers, an additional stringer therebetween, an upper sheet, and a lower sheet. Each stringer has a trapezoidal profile. The upper sheet is secured adhesively to a broad, upper end of each stringer. The lower sheet has two outer flaps, each being folded upwardly and being secured adhesively to an outer wall of a respective one of the outer stringers. The upper sheet may have two outer flaps, each being folded downwardly and being secured adhesively to such an outer wall. Several alternative arrangements are disclosed, which include one wherein a lower base of a paperboard tray defines the upper sheet, another wherein a lower base of a paperboard carton defines the upper sheet, and others wherein blocks cut from such stringers replace the stringers.

摘要： A pallet comprises at least one relatively long, longitudinally extending stringer folded from a single sheet of corrugated paperboard material of a given cross-section, preferably trapezoidal, and two relatively short, transversely extending braces, each folded from a single sheet of corrugated paperboard of a similar cross-section, preferably inverted. The stringer has notches receiving portions of the braces. Each brace has a notch receiving a portion of the stringer. The notches interfit with each other and are dimensioned so that the stringer and the braces are coplanar at their upper and lower edges. The stringer and the braces are secured adhesively to each other at the interengaging notches. In one contemplated embodiment, plural decking members are employed. In other contemplated embodiments, an upper sheet and a lower sheet are employed. In certain contemplated embodiments, the stringer with the braces is a middle stringer between two outer stringers.

摘要： A pallet made predominantly of corrugated paperboard comprises a first decking sheet defining a first deck and a second decking sheet defining a second deck. The first and second decks are planar. The first decking sheet is folded to form two outer stringers extending longitudinally. Each outer stringer has a box-like profile, which is defined by an outer panel extending vertically from the first deck, a panel extending inwardly from the outer panel and secured adhesively to the second deck, an inner panel extending vertically from the inwardly extending panel, a panel extending outwardly from the inner panel, a panel extending vertically from the outwardly extending panel and secured adhesively to the outer panel, a diagonal panel extending diagonally from the vertically extending panel secured adhesively to the outer panel and bracing the box-like profile, and a panel extending outwardly from the diagonal panel and secured adhesively to the outwardly extending panel that is secured adhesively to the first deck. A middle stringer is interposed between the outer stringers, and between the first and second decks, and is secured adhesively to the first and second decks. Two transverse braces are interengaged with the middle stringer via interengaging notches in the transverse braces and in the middle stringer. The transverse braces are secured adhesively to the middle stringer and to the first and second decks. Each transverse brace has two opposite ends spaced respectively from the outer stringers.

摘要： Pallet consisting of several base members, which can have recesses for forks of a fork lift. The base members have holes perpendicular to the length of the members distributed along and closely adjacent the upper surfaces of the base members. Tubes inserted through the holes unite the base members to form the pallet. The base members consisting of three pressed carton pieces folded to a rectangular U-section, the length of each piece corresponding to the length of the base member. The first and the second pieces have a height substantially the height of the pallet. The third piece has an inner height dimension which is approximately the diameter of the tubes. The first carton piece in a base member has the U-section upright with the back of the U downwards, the second carton piece has the U-section as an inverted U-form disposed in the first carton piece. The third carton piece is located with its U-section upright and within and uppermost in the second carton piece. The distances between the vertical walls of the carton piece U-sections are dimensioned to fit closely to and in contact with each other, being tightly fixed by gluing. The holes for the tubes are located so the tubes lead through the space enclosed by the third carton piece uppermost in the base member. The said second carton piece can alternatively be the outer-most piece relative to the first and the third carton pieces.

摘要： A disposable freight pallet.The freight pallet is made of sheet-formed material and has a support plate (14) with parallel ribs (13,16) depending from the underside thereof. The plate material (2) for the pallet blank (1) is reinforced with foil material on at least one side thereof. The ribs are produced by forming a plurality of parallel, V-shaped grooves (5,6,7,8) in two opposing end sections of the plate, the bottom of the grooves extending almost to the inside face of the reinforcing foil (3), and bending the strip portions (9,10,11,12) of plate material formed between said grooves back from the plane of the plate. At least four grooves (5,6,7,8) are formed in the same surface of the plate (2). All the strip portions (9,10, 11,12) are folded back in the same direction, and the fourth strip (12), counting outwardly from the center of the plate, is thereby disposed with its upper surface in contact with the underside of the support plate (14) and is secured thereto, preferably by gluing (15).
