    • A method and system is provided for controlling an electrohydraulic braking system for a motor vehicle having an antilock braking control function and an electrically controllable pressure generating device having a cylinder-piston arrangement having a hydraulic pressure chamber and a piston displaceable by an electromechanical actuator so that a predetermined pressure can be set in the chamber, and having a number of hydraulically wheel brakes connected to the hydraulic pressure chamber by an electrically actuatable inlet valve and to a pressure medium reservoir via an electrically actuatable outlet valve. The cylinder-piston arrangement is actuated in case of antilock controlling at all wheel brakes for setting an individual wheel target pressure at each wheel brake, such that the pressure in the hydraulic pressure chamber is set to the greatest wheel target pressure.

    • A brake fluid pressure control device for vehicles is provided capable of adjusting with a simple control a brake fluid pressure applied to a wheel brake. The control device includes for each system of an X-pipe arrangement: a cut valve as a linear solenoid valve provided to a first fluid pressure path; a pump capable of pressurizing brake fluid on a side toward the wheel brakes than the cut valve on the first fluid pressure path; and a control valve provided on the second fluid pressure path. The control device further includes: a target fluid pressure setting portion for setting a target fluid pressure for each of the wheel brake; and a valve actuating portion for drive-controlling the cut valve and the control valve, based on the target fluid pressure. The valve actuating portion performs for each of the systems the operations of drive-controlling the cut valve by using a higher one of the target fluid pressures of the wheel brakes as a target fluid pressure of the first fluid pressure path, to control the wheel brake having the higher target fluid pressure by driving only the cut valve, and of controlling a wheel brake having a lower target fluid pressure by driving the control valve corresponding to the wheel brake having the lower target fluid pressure.

    • An antilock brake control system for a vehicle is capable of switching between an individual control mode and a collective control mode. The individual control mode regulates the braking forces of left and right wheel brakes in accordance with locking tendencies of the left and right wheels during braking. The collective control mode collectively regulates the braking forces of the left and right wheel brakes in accordance with one of the detected locking tendencies of the wheels, the direction of a vehicle's yaw rate and the steering direction. When these directions coincide with each other, the individual control mode is selected, but when these directions do not coincide with each other, the collective control mode is selected. Thus, it is possible to easily determine a state where the friction coefficients of the road sections, with which the left and right wheels are contacted, are different. Thus, stability is insured in the collective control mode. At other times, the individual control mode can be selected to provide a sufficient braking force.

    • A vehicle braking system is provided for delaying the flow of brake fluid to the rear brakes to reduce the risk of locking the rear brakes. The braking system preferably has a master cylinder, a pair of disk brakes respectively positioned on a pair of rear wheels of a vehicle, and inlet and outlet brake lines each respectively connected to the master cylinder and the pair of rear disk brakes. A fluid circulator valve preferably is positioned between and in fluid communication with the master cylinder and the pair of rear disk brakes and is connected to the inlet and outlet brake lines. A rear brake delay valve preferably is positioned between and in fluid communication with the circulator valve and the pair of rear disk brakes and is connected to the inlet brake line. The rear brake delay valve preferably has a housing including a first opening connected to a first portion of the inlet brake line and a second opening connected to a second portion of the inlet brake line, and a check valve positioned within the housing in fluid communication with the first and second openings. The check valve has a perforated member having a predetermined sized orifice extending therethrough so that the check valve delays fluid flowing from the first opening through the second portion of the inlet brake lines and to the pair of rear disk brakes.
