摘要： A multi-function writing implement includes a pen shaft, a colored pen assembly, and an erasing pen assembly. The colored pen assembly is arranged at one end of the pen shaft. The colored pen assembly includes a cartridge seat, a nib seat, a plurality of colored cartridges, a plurality of relay cartridges, and a plurality of colored ink cotton tubes. The erasing pen assembly is arranged at the other end of the pen shaft opposite to the colored pen assembly. Only one end of the pen shaft may have at least two colors for providing the user to use different colors and the user is not necessary to use two nibs respectively arranged at two ends of the pen shaft by replacing in turn.

摘要： A multiple unit writing instrument includes end to end relatively rotatable barrel section housing a body member rotatable with the front barrel section and a cylindrical cam rotatable with the rear barrel section and having in its outer face a longitudinal guide groove extending to the raised portion of the end cam face and slidably engaged by an actuating member. A pair of writing elements are slidable in guideways in the body member between advanced and retracted positions and carry followers engaging guide slots and the cam face. One of the writing elements is a mechanical pencil including a pencil lead engaging clutch controlled by a rearwardly projecting spring biased plunger which is engaged by a corresponding follower so that when the cam is turned to advance this element to its operative position and the actuating member then longitudinally advanced to depress the plunger the pencil lead is propelled, the further forward movement of the pencil element being restricted by the barrel front opening border. A spring retracted rear push button is coupled to the actuating member and the followers are spring retracted to engage the cam face.

摘要： A two color pen action has inner and outer concentric cylindrical cams with first and second writing cartridge carriers disposed adjacent to each other therein, the outer cylindrical cam containing two longitudinal cam slots and the inner cylindrical cam containing right and left hand first and second spiral cam slots, the cartridge carriers each having a cam follower extending through a spiral cam slot into a longitudinal cam slot. One cam is fixed to the barrel and the other cam is fixed to the cap of a pen so that relative rotation of the cap and barrel selectively extends a writing cartridge. The inner cylindrical cam extends completely through the outer cam and has an expanding end portion which rotatably locks the cams and thus the cap and barrel together. The first cartridge carrier has a width less than the inside diameter of the inner cam allowing the first cartridge carrier to be inserted into the inner cam until its follower is moved into the first spiral cam slot. The inner cylindrical cam contains a channel leading from one end thereof to the second spiral cam slot so that the second cartridge carrier may be inserted in the inner cam adjacent to the first cartridge carrier with its follower passing through the channel into the second spiral cam slot.

The selector responds to gravity or inertial forces. Any suitable mechanism can keep the writing tip projected. Upon retraction, the push button or clip is retracted further than the writing tip to free the swinging door from engagement with the writing tips so that any new selection can be made by the hinged selector swinging to the desired writing point.

摘要： Multifunction writing instrument comprising a body extending in an axial direction and housing at least two retractable writing elements and a ring portion movable in rotation. The ring portion having at least as many pairs of guide surfaces as retractable writing elements. The writing elements include buttons. Each button is configured to cooperate with a respective one of the pair of guide surfaces of the ring portion. Actuation of the button of a writing element facilitates movement of the writing element from the retracted position to the writing position and returns any of the other writing elements in the writing position to the retracted position, whereby at most, one writing element is in the writing position.
