摘要： A sheet processing apparatus includes a sheet tray on which one or more sheets to be processed are placed, an adhesive applying unit, and a pressing member. The adhesive applying unit has an end portion that faces the sheet tray and holds an adhesive material and is configured to move towards the sheet tray up to a position at which the end portion is in contact with or proximate to a sheet on the sheet tray and apart from the sheet tray. The pressing member is configured to move into and out of a moving path of the adhesive applying unit. The pressing member is pressed against a sheet on the sheet tray by the adhesive applying unit, when the pressing member is in the moving path of the adhesive applying unit and the adhesive applying unit moves towards the sheet tray.

摘要： To execute a saddle stitch bookbinding process to prints including an insert paper, there is provided a control method for controlling a sheet processing apparatus, comprising: inserting the insert sheet from a second sheet holder in a plurality of sheets from a first sheet holder, and causing a saddle stitch bookbinder to execute the saddle stitch bookbinding process to the plurality of sheets in which the insert sheet has been inserted; determining whether or not the insert sheet is a sheet of a type to which the saddle stitch bookbinding process can be executed; and, in a case where it is determined that the insert sheet is not the sheet of the type to which the saddle stitch bookbinding process can be executed, controlling the saddle stitch bookbinder not to execute the saddle stitch bookbinding process to the plurality of sheets in which the insert sheet has been inserted.

The staple unit, which has an automatic mode and a manual mode as processing modes for stapling processing, executes stapling processing for a paper sheet conveyed to the processing tray by the conveyance portion in the automatic mode, and executes stapling processing for a paper sheet stacked on the processing tray by a user in the manual mode. The cover is attached in an openable and closable manner so as to cover the operation portion when closed, and expose the operation portion when opened. While the open/close detection portion is detecting that the cover is opened, when the operation portion has received an operation for switching to the manual mode, the mode switching portion switches the automatic mode to the manual mode.

摘要： There is provided a technique which can greatly improve throughput at the time when, after a folding process is performed to a bundle of sheets, the bundle of sheets subjected to the folding process is transported to a downstream side, and can prevent a wrinkle from occurring in the bundle of sheets at the time of the folding process. A sheet transport speed of a pair of rollers is changed from a first transport speed to a second transport speed at a specified timing between when a folding blade finishes a pressing operation of the bundle of sheets and starts a return operation to a waiting position and when a rear edge of the bundle of sheets pressed into a nip of a pair of rollers by the folding blade passes through the nip of the pair of rollers.
