摘要： A heating control section for controlling a voltage applying section and a moving section for reciprocate a carriage on which the first electrode unit is mounted executes heating control for heating a medium while moving the first electrode unit in a scanning direction in at least one of an outgoing path in which the first electrode unit moves in one direction of the scanning direction and a return path in which the first electrode unit moves in the opposite direction. In the heating control, when the first electrode unit is positioned at a first point overlapping with one end section of the medium, the heating control section sets the electric field strength of the first electrode unit to a first electric field strength, when that is positioned at a second point overlapping with center portion of the medium, the second electric field strength is set to be stronger than the first electric field strength, and the movement speed of the first electrode unit at the first point is slower than the movement speed at the second point.

摘要： A method of operating a transfer printer configured to transfer ink from a printer ribbon to a substrate which is transported along a predetermined substrate path adjacent to the printer. The printer comprises a tape drive comprising two tape drive motors, two tape spool supports on which said spools of ribbon may be mounted, each spool being drivable by a respective one of said motors. The printer further comprises a printhead being displaceable towards and away from the predetermined substrate path and being arranged to, during printing, contact one side of the ribbon to press an opposite side of the ribbon into contact with a substrate on the predetermined substrate path, and a printing surface. The printer further comprises a controller configured to control the tape drive to transport ribbon between the first and second ribbon spools. The method comprises controlling the tape drive to perform a ribbon movement in which ribbon is transported between first and second ribbon spools along a ribbon path, the ribbon path having a first length during a first part of said ribbon movement, and a second length during a second part of said ribbon movement, a transition from the first length to the second length being caused by a displacement of the printhead with respect to the printing surface, wherein control of at least one of the tape drive motors is based upon data indicative of the first and second lengths.

The industrial printer comprises a lighted sensor array for indexing the printing to the RFID tags; and a cutter powered from the industrial printer for cutting the web that the RFID tags are disposed on. The industrial printer comprises two RFID reader/writers that are individually controlled. Specifically, one of the RFID reader/writers comprises the ability to electronically encode the RFID tags while the web is moving; and the second RFID reader/writer uses an additional RFID module and antenna on the printer for verifying the data encoded to the RFID tags.

摘要： A print processing portion causes a print device to execute printing of a print image based on print data in accordance with a first scanning amount detected when manual scanning is performed at a first time. A density complementation processing portion causes the print processing portion to execute reprinting in accordance with a second scanning amount detected when the manual scanning is performed at at least a second time. When the manual scanning is performed at at least the second time, the density complementation processing portion identifies density insufficient parts in the print image printed by the print device based on the scanning amount and an image read by an optical reading device. Furthermore, the density complementation processing portion causes the print processing portion to execute the reprinting for the density insufficient parts.

摘要： There are provided a thermal transfer printer and a method for producing a printed matter capable of suppressing deterioration in printing quality. A first energizing pulse is generated at the beginning of one line period. The first energizing pulse causes each heating element to perform offset heating. Second energizing pulses whose number corresponds to a tone level are generated in one line period. The second energizing pulses cause each heating element to perform heating. When the timings at which the first energizing pulse and the second energizing pulses are generated can be evenly distributed within one line period, the timings are evenly distributed within one line period. When the timings cannot be evenly distributed within one line period, the timings are distributed within one line period such that an unevenly distributed portion included in the timings is arranged in an initial period of one line period.

The processor instructs the controller to set the speed of the paper to a first speed which is slower than a second speed, which is the speed for printing the character without the figure, upon determining that the character and the figure are to be simultaneously printed.
