    • A plant and a process for producing tires wherein the process includes the steps of: a) building a green tire on a toroidal support in a building line of a tire production plant; b) transferring the green tire and the relevant toroidal support from the building line of the production plant to a first holding unit; c) transferring the green tire and the relevant toroidal support from the first holding unit to a vulcanization line of the production plant; d) molding and vulcanization the green tire in the vulcanization line of the production plant; e) separating the molded and vulcanized tire from the relevant toroidal support; f) transferring the toroidal support, separated from the relevant tire, from the vulcanization line to the first holding unit; and g) transferring the toroidal support, separated from the relevant tire, from the first holding unit to the building line of the production plant, wherein steps b) and g) are carried out through a first transfer device and steps c) and f) are carried out through a second transfer device different from the first transfer device.

    • A device for separating and removing a rigid core when building a tire, including a slide table and positioning means which are provided on a support table of the separation/removal device. The slide table is slidable to convey the tire, whose inner surface is held by the rigid core body and a core holding mechanism, to a central position on the support table. An elevating device is provided on the central axis of the support table, and includes a clamping means to elevate the rigid core body and the tire from which the core holding mechanism is removed, to a position where the rigid core body and the tire do not interfere with the core holding mechanism. A pair of core separation/removal mechanisms are disposed below the center of the support table, capable of elevating movement, and radially contracting and removing each type of the segment groups.

    • The tire production method includes the steps of (1) extruding a cord and a topping rubber, to obtain a ribbon 44, (2) winding a sheet around a drum, to obtain a belt 22, (3) feeding the ribbon 44 from a head, to layer a foremost end 50 of the ribbon 44 over the belt 22, (4) helically winding the ribbon 44 by rotating the drum with the head being moved toward an end 42b of the belt 22 in the axial direction, and (5) winding the ribbon 44 in a circumferential direction by stopping moving the head, at the end 42b of the belt 22, with rotation of the drum being maintained. In the step of winding the ribbon 44 in the circumferential direction, a rotation angle θs of the drum is greater than or equal to 360°.
