摘要： The rope grab uses friction to control movement along the rope. A brake has an eye at one end and a foot at the other that extends away at an angle to a rounded toe. Optionally, the eye and foot are attached so as to swivel. A cam has an oval rocker and a lever that extends from the rocker opposite the rocker surface. The rocker surface curves eccentrically about an axis, so the rocker behaves like a cam to modulate friction on the rope. The rope extends through a slot and is pinched between an operative surface of the rocker surface and the toe. The brake and cam are held in the correct position relative to each other between two parallel walls of a housing with the eye and lever extending in generally opposite directions outside the housing. Optional springs bias the brake toe and operative surface into the slot.

The hunter's descender defines a shank section that extends outward from the ring. The shank section defines an end that defines a dual hook that points toward the ring. The ring defines a side appendage that extends a distance that is further outward from the ring than the shank section, the side appendage is positioned, either to a left side or a right side of the shank section. The side appendage defines an open semi-circular guide that is configured to allow a rope or line to pass through the open semi-circular guide after the rope is secured on the hunter's descender. An open section of the open semi-circular guide is on a same plane as the dual hook.

The device can also include a capstan having a proximal face joined to the chassis and a distal face separated at a distance from the proximal face. A peripheral capstan surface can be tapered from a greatest diameter near the distal face to a smallest diameter near the proximal face. The device can include a throttle attached to the chassis having an interior surface defining an opening through which the tension member can pass. The interior surface is in at least partial contact with the tension member. Heat produced by kinetic energy in the flexible tension member is transferred to the throttle, and the change in system internal energy produces a drag force on the flexible tension member.

摘要： The descender comprises a handle and a cam that are movable between a securing position and a sliding position of the rope. The cam defines a first stop and a second pin. The handle has a first pin coming into contact with the first stop to form a first mechanical link and a second stop coming into contact with the second pin. Movement of the handle results in movement of the cam between the securing and sliding positions. In a threshold position of the handle, the first mechanical link is interrupted and the cam returns to the securing position. The second stop is movable with respect to the handle by means of a spring. When movement of the handle takes place, the second pin comes into contact with the second stop before the handle stresses a spring and reaches the threshold position.

The lever pin (29) acts on a rocker member (32) which is integral with the movable cam (25) during a first rotation step of the lever pin (29) in a direction opposite to the activation direction of the movable cam (25).
