摘要： A system for generating a concentrated product from a feedstock includes a feedstock chamber to which the feedstock is provided, a heat exchanger assembly in thermal communication with the feedstock chamber, the heat exchanger assembly being configured to freeze the feedstock in the feedstock chamber, an output flow arrangement configured to carry liquid from the feedstock chamber as the feedstock thaws, the output flow arrangement comprising a flow controller, a sensor disposed along the output flow arrangement or the heat exchanger assembly, the sensor being configured to measure a characteristic of the liquid, the characteristic being indicative of a solute concentration level of the liquid or the heat exchanger assembly, and a processor responsive to the characteristic and configured to control the flow controller to, based on the solute concentration level, direct the liquid passing through the output flow arrangement to define a plurality of products at different concentration levels, the plurality of products comprising the concentrated product.

摘要： The invention provides a method for treating root—or tuber juice, comprising a) a pretreatment of the root—or tuber juice to remove root—or tuber lipids to a level below 28 g/kg dry weight; b) cooling the root—or tuber juice to a temperature of −0.3° C. to −16° C. to form ice crystals; and c) separating the ice crystals from the root—or tuber juice to obtain, as a first root—or tuber juice product, a concentrated root—or tuber juice. In addition, the invention provides methods to obtain protein depleted root—or tuber juice products, as well as products comprising root—or tuber free amino acids, and uses thereof.

Large blocks of frozen material are slid from the freezing section to the thawing section; and a new batch of material is frozen with the heat from the freezing section used to thaw the blocks of frozen material. A harvest bar with dogs extending into the frozen material traverses at least a freezing section, and spray nozzles associated with the harvest bar may be used for cleaning the system.

摘要： The invention relates to a crystallization process for recovering a pure substance from a liquid mixture, a starting mixture being cooled down in a crystallization zone to form a crystal suspension from which crystals of the pure substance are recovered, wherein a) the crystal suspension is subjected to a crude preliminary separation in a (preliminary) separation zone to form a first mother liquor and a crystal mass containing relatively small particles, b) the crystal mass formed in a) is allowed to develop in a development zone at a temperature which is higher than that of the crystallization zone and lower than the melting point of the substance to be recovered, and is separated into a developed crystal mass and a second mother liquor, and c) the developed crystal mass formed in b) is separated into a third mother liquor and the intended pure substance in a separation zone, as well as to an apparatus suitable for performing said process.
