An inter-route tunneling protocol module which interfaces with a radio link protocol module is used to tunnel route protocol packets. A first radio link protocol stream is associated with an application resident on the access terminal. A second radio link protocol stream is associated with an inter-route tunneling protocol module. Information to be communicated to a remote access node assembly by way of a serving access node assembly is subjected to two different radio link protocol processing operations. A first one of the RLP processing operations corresponds to the remote access node assembly while the second RLP processing operation corresponds to the serving access node assembly.

摘要： A system including any number workstations, file servers, printers and other fixed devices coupled in a network, and a number of portable devices carried by users and coupled to the network by infrared (IR) link. Each portable device emulates its user's personal satchel for documents: the device is programmed to receive transmit and store document references or tokens, each of which is associated with an electronic document stored in the database. Documents are distributed from one person to another by transmission of document references or tokens, and a document is sent to a printer by beaming that document's reference or token to an IR transceiver associated with that printer. The portable device is preferably a handheld or wristwatch computer with a graphical display for enabling the user to transfer documents, and the fixed devices preferably include a scanner/copier/printer having its own IR transceiver.

The apparatus alerts a doctor with a buzzer sound or a vibration indicating that the condition of the patient and of the living body information signals has changed suddenly. The apparatus includes a portable casing having a front plate, a rear plate, a top plate, a bottom plate, a left plate, and a right plate. The casing is provided with a circuit plate on which an electric circuit is mounted which receives and treats the living body information signals. Moreover, the apparatus is provided with a display portion provided on the casing and connected with the electric circuit. The wave form of at least an electrocardiogram signal included in the living body information signals is displayed on the display portion.

摘要： A paging system, or the like, having a transmitting station and a plurality of pocket sized subscriber units is disclosed. The transmitting station has a keyboard for encoding alphanumeric characters of a message and a subscriber code, a storage means for a predetermined number of characters of a message, means for converting a binary character code, such as ASCII, to a binary code representative of the character to be displayed in matrix form, and a format circuit for transmitting successive columns of the successive matrix code with blank columns and timing spaces therebetween to facilitate reconstruction of the subscriber code and message. Each of the subscriber units is battery powered and sized to be carried in a pocket of the user's clothing. Each pocket unit includes a receiver, means for detecting a unique subscriber code and enabling the display, for example, a non-impact type thermal printer having a single column of thermal print elements, and a system for advancing a thermally sensitive record tape past the print elements. Synchronism of such pocket printer is controlled by the format of the subscriber code and message, with blank spaces at the end of each column of data being detected to cause the print elements to be heated in accordance with the column data and then the record tape advanced one column width. A receiver having a nonprinting, visual message display is also disclosed.
