    • The timer switch comprises a setting member for setting a desired period, an escape wheel provided with saw-shaped teeth, a rack interposed between the setting member and the escape wheel for disengaging the setting member from the escape member while the setting member is operated and engaging the setting member with the escape wheel while the escape wheel turns, an anchor provided with a pair of claws, which is disposed so as to be opposed to the escape wheel, an electromagnetic member which begins to rock the anchor intermittently when the setting member is operated, so that the claws of the anchor are alternately engaged with the escape wheel. When the setting member is moved either along or about its axis, the escape wheel is disengaged from the setting member and the electromagnetic member begins to rock the anchor intermittently so that the claws of the anchor are alternately engaged with the escape wheel. Consequently, the escape wheel turns intermittently to engage the setting member with the escape wheel through the rack. As a result, the setting member moves intermittently at predetermined timings and by predetermined pitches.

    • An electrical switch, particularly for a breaking circuit includes first and second changeover switches. The first and second changeover switches each comprise first and second stationary contacts and a switching contact. A plunger is operatively connected to a rocker for causing the rocker to pivot between a non-operated position and an operated position. The second stationary contacts are associated with the non-operated position of the plunger. A spring is connected between the rocker and the switching contacts. The spring is arranged on the rocker and on the switching contacts so that at least when switching over from the second stationary contacts to the first stationary contacts the switching contacts are lifted off the second stationary contacts essentially synchronously. A delay device is coupled to the switching contact of the first changeover switch for only delaying movement of the first switching contact of the first changeover switch when switching over from the first stationary contact to the second stationary contact after that switching contact has lifted off the first stationary contact. The switching contact of the first changeover switch thus comes to rest against its second stationary contact later than the switching contact of the second changeover switch comes to rest against its second stationary contact.

    • In connection with a switch arrangement for circuit-making and circuit-breaking, as well as for controlling the speed of, electric machines it is proposed to provide a double-pole circuit-maker and circuit-breaker safety switch and to connect it in series with the motor connections in such a manner that in a first switching position of the double-pole safety switch the connection to mains is established while in the other switching position at least one motor field winding is short-circuited with the armature winding by an actuating element provided in common for the two partial change-over switches, by changing the polarity for instantaneous braking, there being provided a separate speed-setting selector switch which can be operated independently of the saftey switch and which is designed to permit presetting of a motor cut-out position which enables the motor to run out freely when the safety switch does not respond separately or when the device is not opened to cause the safety switch to respond.
