    • A supporting means for receiving an HDD main body to be installed in an apparatus main body of an AV server. An HDD unit formed by attaching, to peripheries of the HDD main body, a frame having at least a gripping portion and a latching means. The supporting means has a plurality of slots which are formed vertically at opposing positions inside of the both sides in a parallel state at regular intervals, and a latching portion at an upper edge in a lateral direction. Vents are provided between said slots, and a guide member having a groove portion is disposed in each slot. The HDD unit is inserted into a slot with the frame being guided into the groove portion of the guide member. The latching means of the frame is engaged with a latching portion of the supporting means so that each HDD unit is locked independently. This construction simplifies the arrangement in an HDD apparatus installed in an AV server, and improves the ease of insertion and removing operations and the stability of the HDD main body in the installed state.

    • The present invention relates to a disk cartridge, which can be accurately positioned with respect to a drive device for accessing a disk medium. The disk cartridge provided with a case rotatably accommodating a disk medium therein, an arcuate side wall which is directed forward when the case is loaded into the drive device, and a shutter member formed on at least one surface of the case, for opening or closing an opening for access to the disk medium. An engaging portion is provided at a side wall to engage with a sensor member disposed in the drive device for accessing the disk medium so as to record or reproduce information thereon.

    • A recording element or a reproducing element in a head generates heat that decomposes lubricating agent adhered to a slider surface near the recording/reproducing element of the head. This decomposed lubricating agent leads to corrosion of the magnetic layer and the like of the magnetic disk. The lubricating agent undergoes volume expansion due to this corrosion, creating a protrusion on the magnetic disk surface to which the lubricating agent is adhered. The magnetic disk surface to which the lubricating agent is adhered comes into contact with the magnetic head, leading to friction with the protective layer, the magnetic layer, and the like. In the worst case, this can lead to secondary errors where data recorded on the magnetic layer is erased. To prevent such secondary errors, the present invention provides a hard disk drive including: a magnetic disk to which is applied a first lubricating agent formed as 1 (where pnull0 or an integer of at least 1, qnull0 or an integer of at least 1, and Xnull1-5); and a mechanism for supplying a second lubricating agent to the magnetic disk having an average molecular weight of no more than 2,400 and no less than 600 and formed as H OCH2CF2(OC2F4)p(OCF2)qOCF2CH2OH (where pnull0 or an integer of at least 1 and qnull0 or an integer of at least 1).

    • A method and apparatus for connecting sections of a drilling rig substructure is disclosed. The disclosed invention is a unique structural connector in which sections of a drilling rig substructure can be connected together without the use of pins or pin-type connectors. The structural connector of the present invention utilizes specially-shaped fixed members connected to, and extending through, support plates that are attached to sections of a drilling rig substructure that mate with specially-shaped mating lugs that are mounted on mating lug plates that are attached to separate sections of the drilling rig substructure. When the sections of the drilling rig substructure to be connected are positioned together, the specially-shaped mating lugs engage the specially-shaped fixed members and form a high strength structural connection between the sections of the drilling rig substructure.
