摘要： A method and apparatus for use with a computer for providing commands to a computer through tracked manual gestures and for providing feedback to the user through forces applied to the interface. A user manipulatable object is coupled to a mechanical linkage which is, in turn, supportable on a fixed surface. The mechanical linkage or the user manipulatable object is tracked by sensors for sensing the location and/or orientation of the object. A multi-processor system architecture is disclosed wherein a host computer system is interfaced with a dedicated microprocessor which is responsive to the output of the sensors and provides the host computer with information derived from the sensors. The host computer has an application program which responds to the information provided via the microprocessor and which can provide force-feedback commands back to the microprocessor, which is felt by a user via the user manipulatable object.

摘要： A display device which incorporates a touch panel function therein can reduce the number of elements which constitute a photo sensor circuit and can accurately detect an input coordinate position without requiring a particular coordinate arithmetic circuit. In a display device which includes: a display part on which a plurality of pixels are arranged in a matrix array; and a plurality of photo detection circuits which are arranged in a matrix array in the inside of the display part, each photo detection circuit of the plurality of photo detection circuits includes: a photo sensor which converts an incident light into a optical current corresponding to intensity of the incident light; an integral capacitance which integrates the optical current converted by the photo sensor; and a comparator to which a voltage of the integral capacitance is inputted; and the comparator includes a transistor of an open drain output type with a grounded source.

摘要： A pointing device generates pixel counts at a predetermined frame rate indicative of motion in predetermined axes of a user's digit across an imaging surface. A cursor motion controller receives the pixel counts and generates navigation output signals representing averages over predetermined time intervals selected to smooth the motion of a cursor on the display of an electronic apparatus. Optionally, the cursor motion controller can multiply a pixel count in each frame by a predetermined acceleration factor so that a cursor on the display of an electronic apparatus will move a greater distance based on an increased rate of motion of the user's digit across the imaging surface. Optionally, the cursor motion controller can interrupt the generation of navigation output signals for a predetermined interrupt period after completion of a cursor stroke. The averaging, acceleration and interruption features can be used independently or in various combinations.
