摘要： A display has a matrix array of cells formed in a silicon plate and each containing a tungsten strip filament. The cells are filled with a halogen gas and are sealed by a double-glazed window with an infra-red reflecting filter to reflect heat back into the cell while allowing the transmission of visible radiation. The rear of the plate is treated to make it microporous and reduce its thermal conductivity.

The display device is constituted of a large number of display units (50) arranged in a matrix, each including a display element (10) composed of a light bulb, a regulator (51) composed of a relay, an nonvolatile memory (52) composed of an EEPROM, and a controller (53) composed of a CPU. A common electric power transmission line (61) and a common signal transmission line (71) are wired for the plural display units (50). A display signal including address information and data information is supplied to the signal transmission line (71). Each controller (53) controls an associated regulator (51) to light on/off an associated display element (10), based on the data information in the display signal only when the address stored in the nonvolatile memory (52) agrees with the address information in the display signal.

摘要： A display unit is formed of a number of individual light boxes which are electrically and mechanically interconnected in one or more rows. Each light box comprises complementary mounting and hook-on strips at two opposite sides for detachable interconnection of the light boxes in juxtaposed rows. Complementary electric connecting means are each arranged at one end of each light box for electrically and mechanically interconnecting light boxes in the same row. Current is supplied to the light boxes from one end of each row of light boxes by means of a conductor rail. To provide a play of lights, the lamp fitting of each light box has a control circuit which is designed as a receiver and whose turning on and off of the lamp fitting is controlled by a transmitter in the power supply circuit of the display unit.

摘要： A large scale display device such as an advertising having display surface formed by arranging a number of image display tubes lengthwise and breadthwise. The device includes a frame having main posts and block-shaped face plates to each of which a number of image display tubes and a control unit are secured to form an assembly. The assemblies are piled one on another beginning with the lowest line in the frame and secured to the main posts with horizontal support members which are provided integrally on the back of each block-shaped face plates. Waterproofing putty or the like is filled in the gaps between the upper and lower junctions and the right and left junctions of adjacent block-shaped face plates.
