    • A package configuration for holding merchandise includes a rotatable element that selectively displays different information to the user as the element is rotated. The rotatable element is restrained without a central hub or pivot pin. The restraining configuration limits lateral movement and minimizes pinching of the rotatable element. In one configuration, the merchandise storage package has a cover assembly having front and rear covers that define at least one window. Three pocket tabs restrain the lateral movement of the rotatable element. Each pocket tab is integrally folded from the blank used to form the storage package. One of the pocket tabs is double folded over itself to form a spacer having a thickness of three layers of blank material. Another pocket tab is folded over the spacer tab to form a fourth layer of material between the front and back covers.

    • A device for assigning numbers to products having casings, such as electronic calculators, has at least two digit wheels, each preferably having digits 0 through 9. One of the digit wheels is transparent, while the other may be opaque, with a light background. The digits on each of the two wheels are offset from radial lines such that two-digit numbers can be made with selected digits juxtaposed. If three digit wheels are included the tens wheel has digits centered on radial lines. The casing of the product to be numbered has a number viewing window and an internal peg on which the digit wheels are held and can be rotated for adjustment, as well as at least one peg or pin for engaging registry holes to align and maintain the digit wheels in proper position. In a preferred embodiment the digit wheels are manipulated to the proper number by removing the back from the casing.

    • A rotatable wheel assembly which is suited for use as a wheel calculator, including a wheel having an axial hole therein and bearing indicia on one of its faces, front and back covers between which the wheel is sandwiched, the front cover having a window opening therein for selective viewing of the indicia on the wheel face, and the back cover and the front cover being adhesively bonded to each other through the hole in the wheel, the bond providing a grommetless pivot or axle for the wheel. To inhibit contact between the adhesive bond and the wheel while maximizing the width of the axle relative to the size of the hole in the wheel, a mask having a hole therein which is of substantially the same size as, but not greater than, the hole in the wheel, is interposed between the back cover member and the wheel with the two holes axially aligned with each other. The entire assembly can be formed by machine or by hand, either from a unitary, generally rectangular blank of paperboard or like sheet material, the blank being divided into panels constituting the various components by fold and tear lines, or from such a blank which includes all components of the assembly other than the mask which can be formed from a separate strip of sheet material and individually positioned between the wheel and the back cover member before the blank is folded into its final state.

    • A utility locator which is positioned on the surface, but which is capable of providing extensive information concerning the character and location of utility facilities, or other similar types of subsurface structures. More particularly, the present invention is capable of providing information at the surface concerning the type of facility located below ground, the depth at which it is buried, its precise location, and its drift or direction of travel. In one embodiment, the utility locator comprises a multiple piece assembly. The manner in which the pieces are assembled and the types of pieces used provide the desired information. In particular, a round center piece may be used which has inscribed on its surface an indication concerning the type of structure marked. A second piece contains a mark on its surface. This mark is positioned with respect to a third piece such that the drift of the underground line is identified. This is accomplished by inscribing on the surface of the third piece the points of the compass. Depth is also indicated in a manner similar to that in which drift is indicated. In one embodiment, the third piece also includes a series of depth indications around its circumference. A fourth piece is then provided whcih also contains a mark. The mark is aligned with the number which corresponds to the depth of the subsurface facility (such as in feet or meters).
