    • The present invention is embodied in a connector system for a docking station of a portable computer. The connector system includes a peripheral connector array that is removeably coupled, both mechanically and electrically, to a docking station or port replicator. Since the connector array is removeably coupled to the port replicator, the connector array can be maneuvered to allow easy and convenient connection of appropriate peripherals to the connector array. Also, the port replicator preferably has a recessed area for storing the connector array after electrical connection of appropriate peripherals to the connector array. This reduces clutter and tangling of the cables connected to the peripherals. In addition, the connector array can be of various sizes and shapes and can be designed to interface with specific portable computers. Further, the connector system of the present invention can be upgradeable in that the port replicator can accept upgraded or newer connector arrays that have additional or advanced connections for peripheral devices.

    • A standard picture frame detachably connected to a video monitor of the kind having a digital display to receive and display photographic images that are downloaded from a compatible image source so as to enhance the aesthetic appearance of the monitor to match the surroundings in which the monitor will be stationed. In the assembled relationship, the picture frame is attached to the front of the monitor so as to lie in surrounding engagement with a picture frame mount, whereby the digital display is visible through the central window of the frame. In a first embodiment, a pair of slidable locking latches project outwardly and in opposite direction from the monitor for receipt by the existing peripheral groove formed in the picture frame. In a second embodiment, a pivotal locking latch and a stationary locking tab project outwardly and in opposite directions from the monitor for receipt by the existing peripheral groove in the frame.

    • A data storage device mounting apparatus includes a retaining bracket (20) fixedly mounted to a computer chassis (10), two slide rails (40) attached to opposite sides of a data storage device (50), and a resilient operation body (30). The retaining bracket includes two opposite side plates (21, 22) each defining a long slot (24). Each slide rail includes protrusions (42) slidably engaging in a corresponding slot. One side plate includes a detent tab (28). One slide rail includes a blocking tab (46). The operation body is fixed to one side plate, and includes an inward projection (33). When the data storage device is slid into the retaining bracket, the projection snappingly engages with the blocking tab, to prevent accidental withdrawal of the data storage device from the retaining bracket. The detent tab abuts an end of the data storage device, to prevent the data storage device from moving further inwardly.

    • An improved air-cooling system for high performance, high density electronic equipment comprises, in one embodiment, a single fan having a radial impeller, a baffle having an inlet portion to efficiently direct air into the fan intake, and a two-tiered outlet plenum to direct one airflow specifically at the highest heat-generating components and another airflow at all components. The air-cooling system is designed to provide maximum cooling for a low-height, high heat-generating electronics module such as a server. By using only a single fan that is matched to the low resistance airflow characteristics of the baffle, the air-cooling system offers significant advantages over multi-fan systems.     • A drive bracket assembly (10) includes a bracket (40) adapted for receiving a disk drive (50) therein, a rail (30), and a retaining piece (20). The bracket includes first and second sidewalls (41, 45), and a plurality of slots (42) is defined in the first sidewall. The rail is adapted for being attached to one side of the disk drive. A protrusion (36) protrudes outwardly from the rail. A pair of poles (32) is outwardly formed from the rail, for sliding in a select one of the slots of the first sidewall. The retaining piece is attached to the first sidewall. The retaining piece includes a handle portion (22) and a resilient clip (23) engaging with the protrusion of the rail, thereby securely retaining the disk drive in the bracket. When the handle portion is pressed toward the first sidewall, the clip is rotated outwardly thereby releasing the protrusion.
