The device includes:a pivoting control column (6);a shaft (7) which is articulated to the column and which is able to pivot around its axis following an angular displacement of the column (6) in a first plane;a first link (8) which is provided between the shaft and at least one first movable member (9), and which gives rise to the displacement of the at least one first movable member;a connecting rod (10) which is articulated to the column and which is able to be displaced in translation parallel to its longitudinal axis following an angular displacement of the column (6) in a second plane;a second link (11) which is provided between the connecting rod and at least one second movable member (12), and which gives rise to the displacement of the at least one second movable member; andfriction unit (13) in order to apply the correct forces for the angular displacements of the column in the two planes, and which is arranged between the first and second links (8, 11). The device can be applied especially to the control of the cyclic plate of the rotor of a helicopter.

    • A brake apparatus is provided to retard the relative movement between two members. The apparatus comprises a housing positioned around the perimeter of a portion of one of the members. A collar is fixedly secured to the housing generally around the perimeter of a portion of one of the members. Clamping elements are fixedly secured to the collar and have a first surface positioned generally coaxial with at least one of the members. The clamping elements move radially to frictionally engage one of the members to apply a braking force. Each of the clamping elements have a ball in abutting rolling relationship with a second surface generally radially opposite the first surface. The balls urge each of their respective clamping elements into such frictional engagement upon axial movement of an actuating device having a third surface in rolling engagement with the ball. One of the second and the third surfaces has a preselected incline with respect to a longitudinal axis of one of the members.

    • A locking device includes an annular locking face formed on the inner surface of a casing and an annular lockable face opposed to the locking face and provided on a driven member turnably mounted on the casing. The lockable face is movable into pressing contact with the locking face to lock a lever when the lever is rotated and thereby screwed in toward one direction longitudinally thereof. The locking face and the lockable face are operable free of any local uneven wear, while the lever can be locked to the desired position and unlocked therefrom with high reliability at all times.
