    • A child positioning apparatus for X-ray photography having improved adjustment mechanisms. In particular the positioning of the X-ray film cassette has been improved by using a friction fastner. The friction fastner passes through a groove in the vertical portion of a L-bracket and attaches to a tray for holding the X-ray film. The position of the tray is adjusted by loosening the friction fastener, positioning the tray and then re-tightening to fix the X-ray film cassette into place.

    • A portable, padded chair made from X-ray transparent materials is used to comfortably support a patient while taking X-rays for medical diagnostic purposes. The use of X-ray transparent materials reduces the medical assistant's and patient's risk of repeated exposure to unnecessary X-ray levels. Also, the chair allows a patient to remain in a sitting or reclining position while X-rays are taken. A foot pedal and locking wheels allow for easy adjustment of the chair so that the patient is positioned comfortably and securely. A bucky tray, adjustable along the length and width of the chair, and a piano stand fixture, that attaches to the arms of the chair, are used to hold X-ray film cassettes. Additionally, the arm supports are adjustable and capable of being dropped to the side of the chair so a patient is easily transferred to and from a hospital bed.

Light, which is emitted from the linear area of the sheet exposed to the linear stimulating rays, is received and photoelectrically converted by a line sensor. The line sensor comprises a pair of one-dimensional CCD image sensors. Light receiving regions of the one-dimensional CCD image sensors are located close to each other with respect to a direction normal to the length direction of the linear area of the sheet and with a fine gap intervening between the light receiving regions.

    • An X-ray tomosynthesis system as an X-ray diagnostic system is provided. The system also comprises an element setting a ROI position of the subject, an element for obtaining a plurality of three dimensional coordinates of pixels included in the ROI, a calculating element obtaining two dimensional coordinates of data in the two dimensional imaging signals for each of the two dimensional imaging signals detected by the X-ray detector, the data being necessary for obtaining pixel values of the three dimensional coordinates; and an element for obtaining the pixel value of each of the three dimensional coordinates by extracting the corresponding data of the two dimensional coordinates from the detected two dimensional imaging signals and adding the extracting data.

    • A method for automatic arrangement determination of partial radiation images for reconstructing a stitched full image. At least two radiation sub-images of an elongated object are acquired and converted to digital images. A hypothesis list is constructed and overlap regions for consecutive sub-images pair in each hypothesis are detected. A plurality of different measurements are conducted on consecutive sub-image pair of each hypothesis. The correlation function is calculated to find the function maximum and the horizontal displacement between the sub-image pair. The magnitude of the horizontal displacement is checked and an overall figure-of-merit is established. The hypothesis of maximum figure-of-merit for best candidate is selected. The sub-images are processed based on selected hypothesis for stitching to produce an output image.
