    • Upper and lower separate pistons confining a constant volume of liquid in upper and lower chambers separated by a horizontal partition. A valve closing an aperture in the partition and opened by liquid in upper chamber moving to lower chamber when upper piston is pushed downwardly, the lower piston being moved downward by the liquid thus added to lower chamber. Orifice in valve permitting coil spring on lower piston to slowly raise lower piston and thereby return liquid from lower to upper chamber while valve is closed and downward push is absent from upper piston. A normally-open switch in electric fuze circuit, closable by lower piston upon attainment of a predetermined downward displacement, the upper piston being downwardly pushable through a one-way clutch by a plunger downwardly pushable by an external force and upwardly returned by an internal coil spring.

    • A double-ended mine, adapted to be carried by a projectile, deployed by gity, and come to rest on either end, comprises: a housing having two end walls and a connecting side wall; an annular main high explosive charge, lined on each end with a concave missile plate, in the housing; a clearing charge located between the main charge and each end wall; a fuze body mounted in the annular charge; an arming slider slidable in an axial channel in the body between safe and armed positions; a slider spring; two spin-released bolts in the body for locking the slider in safe position prior to projectile launch; a spring-biased pin for preventing rotation of the slider and for locking the slider in armed position; an electrical fast-fire detonator mounted in a first radial channel in the body; a first explosive lead mounted in a transverse passage in the slider in alignment with the detonator in armed position; a mechanical gravity-controlled switch and two combustible cords connecting the first explosive lead with the clearing charges; an electrical delay detonator mounted in a second radial channel in the fuze body; four radial channels in the slider aligned with four radial channels through the fuze body, an axial passage connecting the delay detonator to the aligned channels, in the armed position of the slider, and explosive leads in the aligned channels and axial passage, for initiating the main charge; and terminals for simultaneously applying an electrical firing signal from a proximity fuze to the two detonators, to first initiate the upper clearing charge only and thereby remove the upper end wall only and, after a predetermined delay time, initiate the main charge.In a modification, the radial delay detonator is replaced by an axial delay element connected between the first explosive lead and the aligned radial channels and leads.

    • The invention relates to an anti-disturbance delay fuze for safing, arming and initiating a munition. The present invention permits a munition to be safely handled when launched, to remain inoperative during a first interval of time equivalent to the period that this munition is being dispersed to the target area, to be responsive immediately to subsequent disturbance, and to cause initiation after a second interval of time after dispersal when there has been no disturbance. The present invention comprises a housing having a central bore, a delay disc counter bore in an open end and an axial counter bore in a partially closed end, a biased triggering means rotatably positioned in the axial counter bore for arming the munition after a first period of time and firing the munition after a second period of time, a firing pin means operatively affixed to the housing and releasably held in the triggering means, a fuze cover circumambient to the housing having an integrally formed disturbance weight position lock and pivot depending for the inside surface of the cover, and a delay means operatively positioned intermediate to the disturbance means and the triggering means for keeping the disturbance means inoperative during the first time period and initiating the munition upon movement after the first time period, and for initiation of the munition after a second time period where there has been no movement of the munition during the interval of time between the first and second periods.

    • A holder is disclosed for a mine fuze for an antitank mine, in which the mine fuze incorporates a booster charge, a detonator for initiating the booster charge, and a spring-biased firing pin for initiating firing of the detonator. The holder is dimensioned to fit into a mine-fuze location provided in the antitank mine, where the booster charge is in fuzed relationship with the explosive charge contained by the mine. The holder is also provided with connectors for initiators for initiating one or more explosive charges located in the ground, the booster charge being in fuzed relationship with the initiators when the holder and mine fuze are attached.
