    • A folding knife has first and second blades pivotably mounted about a common pivot pin to move between their respective open and closed positions. Preferably, the two blades pivot in opposite directions about the pivot pin. A side lock plate is positioned between the first blade and the second blade. The side lock plate includes a first finger biased toward the first blade to engage the first blade when the first blade is in its open position, and a second finger biased toward the second blade to engage the second blade when the second blade is in its open position. The fingers can be independently depressed to unlock the blades and permit them to be closed.

    • A folding knife including a blade and a handle which are joined together by a pivot at a forward end of the handle, an axis of the pivot is in the same plane as the blade and the handle and joins same to a tang portion of the blade so that the blade can pivot laterally from an extended position through about 180.degree. to a second position where the blade lies within the confines of the handle. The top and/or bottom of the tang is generally rectangular in section and engages in a similarly shaped recess formed in upper and/or bottom arms of the handle, the upper and/or bottom arms of the handle incorporate a mechanism for moving the arms apart to enable the tang to be disengaged from the recess to swing the blade laterally either to its open or closed position. The top of the tang can have locking surfaces associated therewith which engage with a recess in the arm of the handle adjacent thereto to lock the blade in its open or closed position. The locking surfaces can be located on a rectangular lug formed on the tang or in the handle which is arranged to lock the handle, arm and tang in their open or closed position.

    • An edge weapon training device includes a handle body for gripping in a hand of a user and first and second contacts spaced apart at a first end of the handle body for delivering an electrical shock to a person being trained for self-defense against edge weapons when the handle body is thrust against the trainee in a simulated stabbing motion. In some instances a knife body protrudes beyond the contacts to visually represent a knife, but the knife body is supported to either retract into the handle body or be compressed against the handle body when the handle is thrust against a user in a simulated stabbing motion. Alternatively, the training device may take the form of a resilient adapter body which supports the contacts thereon and which can be supported over an existing stun gun with the contacts in connection to the electrical posts of the stun gun.

    • A foldable push dagger includes an elongated, movable, sharpened dagger blade secured to an elongated dagger handle. In a fully closed position, the longitudinal axis of the blade is parallel to the longitudinal axis of the handle such that the blade is disposed entirely within the handle. In a fully opened position, the longitudinal axis of the blade is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the handle such that the sharpened portion of the blade is disposed exteriorly of the handle and the push dagger assumes a "T" configuration. In its fully opened position, the blade is releasably secured in the handle against substantial relative movement therewith.
