    • An apparatus for converting an existing array of steam table wells into a single heating and/or cooking surface. The apparatus offers flexibility to dining establishments having any variety of single-well or multiple-well steam tables arranged. The apparatus includes one or more adapter frames adapted to fit within existing steam wells, and an overlying heating surface. The frame includes a peripherally arranged riser wall to allow the frame to rest within a steam well in such a manner that the frame's riser wall projects above a top surface of the steam well on which the overlying heating surface may rest. Preferably, the adapter frame interacts with both the existing steam well and the overlying heating surface such that seals are formed to increase the efficiency of transferring heat from the steam table to be to the overlying heating surface. A gasketing material may be included to facilitate such sealing.

    • The present invention relates to a panel radiator comprising a rectangular steam generation unit having a combustion unit and a heat exchange unit at the lower part thereof, characterized in that the left and right introduction pipes, each having one end coupled with the steam introduction unit, are coupled with the steam introduction unit of a radiation panel body, and a heat pipe is constituted by reducing the pressure at the steam generation unit and the panel body, whereby a small panel radiator integrated with a heating source and capable of transporting heat efficiently from a heating source to a heat radiating unit utilizing the heat pipe principle is provided thereby.

    • A heater is disclosed for burning combustible particulate fuels. The fuels are delivered to an internal retort at a constant rate. They are burned at an open end of the retort with the aid of a primary air supply manifold that surrounds the open end of the retort and directs primary combustion air into the particulates at the open retort end. Secondary combustion air is directed through an annular air supply manifold situated above the open retort end. The hot exhaust gases pass upwardly through a combustion chamber and subsequently downwardly through an exhaust gas plenum to an exhaust gas discharge. Flow of the combustion air and exhaust gases is induced by a vacuum blower mechanism by which a reduced pressure is produced within the combustion chamber to draw air through the primary and secondary air supply manifolds. The exhaust gases drawn off by the vacuum mechanism are pressurized on a discharge side of the vacuum mechanism. A heat exchanger can be provided in close proximity to the combustion chamber and exhaust gas plenum to receive heat generated thereby and to transmit it to useful areas within the surrounding structure. The heat exchanger may also be utilized as an insulator between the hot surfaces of the exhaust plenum and a fuel hopper which may be supplied as an integral part of the heater.

    • Disclosed is a wet-based, wood-burning boiler that has a combustion chamber that heats water in a cylindrical main boiler chamber and in a communicating rear boiler chamber. A flue directly exhausts smoke, flue gases and products of combustion from the combustion chamber without creosote formation, while a damper plate, tracked to its closed position: indirectly exhausts without lowering the temperature of the exhausting flue gases to creosote deposition temperature because the damper plate structure has a more effective draft area than the flue draft area, while at the same time the damper plate structure retains the highest temperature possible in the combustion chamber, and traps and transfers heat to the water in the boiler chambers more quickly and with a faster recovery rate.The wet-based, wood-burning boiler can be converted to a wood-burning, forced, hot-air furnace while retaining its tracked damper plate structure and functional attributes associated therewith.In another embodiment, the wet-based, wood-burning boiler can be modified to function as a radiant heater while retaining its tracked damper plate structure and functional attributes associated therewith.
