摘要： A fuel delivery system and burner for a torch. Fuel passes from a regulator into a tube that extends through the path of a flame that is produced by the burner. The tube preferably is shaped into a coil around the area of the flame so that the coil is heated by the flame. The heated coil assures that liquid fuel in the coil is vaporized as it passes through the coil. In addition, the coil may act as a flame spreader. A burner tube includes an internal passage and an outer passage. Fuel vapor flows through each of these passages, and escapes the burner tube at a distal end. The outer flow of gas is slow, and does not aspirate air, causing the flame to remain attached to the burner and to burn yellow. The inner flow of gas adds velocity, helping the burner flame to be wind resistant.

摘要： A BBQ or fireplace lighter, including a child resistant device to prevent operation by children, and in particular, small children. In one embodiment, the device is in the form of a pivotally mounted lever having a notch engaging a plate in the trigger, locking the trigger from operation. The trigger release mechanism includes a button extending out of the lighter housing immediately behind the trigger guard for operation by a finger while the trigger is operated by the index or another finger. A second embodiment is comprised of a trigger guard plate having a thumb tab extending out of the top of the housing mounted on a rotatable hub. The guard plate engages and obstructs operation of the trigger. A spring biases the guard plate against the trigger to prevent operation, but can be rotated out of the way by rotating the thumb tab to a stop position moving trigger guard plate out of engagement of the trigger, allowing operation of the BBQ or fireplace lighter. A third embodiment has a button extending out the top of the housing with a stop disk engaging a keyhole slot in the trigger preventing operation until the button is pushed down.

摘要： A gas bolt heater for loosening large bolts and studs has a hollow cylindrical housing defining a cylindrical chamber within the housing. A heating tube projecting from one end of the housing has a longitudinal bore. A first cylindrical insert closing the lower end of the chamber has a through opening communicating with the bore of the heating tube, and a second cylindrical insert located within an opposite end of the cylindrical housing has an elongate passage extending axially of the cylindrical housing. Downwardly convergent air passages in the second cylindrical insert have mouths distributed around the elongate passage, at a lower end of the passage, and an air supply duct communicates through the cylindrical housing with the air outlet passages. In use, air jets discharge from the mouths of the air outlet passages around an outlet end of a tip of an oxy-acetylene torch inserted through the elongate passage so that the flame of the oxy-acetylene torch is directed longitudinally of the cylindrical chamber and does not impinge directly on the wall of housing. The useful life of the gas bolt heater is thereby substantially extended.
