    • A recharger device for the battery includes a device with a first slot for a first device, such as a flashlight for recharging. A second slot in relationship to the first slot is provided for receiving a second device for recharging. Locking means with each slot such is moveable to permit release one or other device after moving the locking member between a closed position to an open position. The flashlight includes a battery pack to act as a closure of an opening to a battery housing. The closure is in the tailpiece and is mounted in the battery housing. The closure is connected integral with a rechargeable battery such that when the batteries are located in position in the battery housing the battery housing is closed.

    • A rechargeable flashlight, having a head end and a tail end, has an incandescent bulb disposed to direct its illumination out of the head end and has a switch accessible at the tail end. The flashlight houses an assembly of rechargeable batteries and a voltage converter that steps up the voltage provided by the rechargeable batteries and powers the incandescent bulb with the stepped-up voltage when the switch is in the “ON” position. When the switch is in the “OFF” position, the rechargeable batteries may be recharged while they are inside of the flashlight, via positive and negative contact rings disposed coaxially about the switch in the tail end of the flashlight. A recharger is positioned to provide current through the positive and negative contact rings for recharging the batteries inside the flashlight when protrusions carried on the recharger housing snap into a circumferential groove provided in the flashlight housing. The positive contact ring is electrically connected to the positive terminal of the rechargeable battery assembly via a diode that becomes forward biased during the recharge process. The diode serves to prevent current from flowing through the voltage converter or through the incandescent bulb during the recharge process.

    • A flashlight includes a rechargeable battery and is loaded from the front. The contacts are on an intermediate portion above the barrel, and are to make connection with contacts of a recharging device having a receiving ring for the body and intermediate portion of the flashlight. There is a helical spring member between the switching device at the base of the barrel and the bottom of the battery and a helical spring member on the base of the barrel at the bottom of the battery. An enlarged head is located above the barrel and the intermediate portion is between the head and the barrel. The intermediate portion receives a housing for holding the bulb, and there are several helical springs associated with the housing.

    • Vehicle light apparatus for removably mounting on an elongate member of a vehicle such as a stroller or bicycle has its own battery power supply mounted on a rectangular web of pliant material that has opposed long sides. The long sides are provided with fasteners so that the web may be wrapped around an elongate member of a vehicle and the two long sides then joined together to hold the apparatus in place. The battery may be rechargeable, and a built-in battery charger may be incorporated into the apparatus. Light emitters are powered by the battery and positioned to emit light from opposed sides of the member. The lights may be light emitting diodes (LEDs), electroluminescent strips (EL), or incandescent bulbs. The lights may be flashing sequencing for safety and decoration.

    • A renewable energy flashlight comprises a housing and a barrel located within the housing. A wire coil wraps around the barrel, between the barrel and the housing. A magnet oscillates within the barrel when the flashlight is shaken, generating an alternating current in the coil. Two springs at either end of the barrel cause the magnet to recoil when the magnet strikes the springs. As an alternative, rebound magnets oriented to repel the charging magnet may be installed within the barrel at either end, to cause the magnet to recoil from the ends. An electronics assembly within the housing includes a capacitor for storing charge, a rectifier connected to the capacitor, and means for conducting current flowing in the coil to the rectifier, to charge the capacitor. An LED is connected to the capacitor by means of a switch, and lights up when the switch is switched on.

    • Light apparatus for removably mounting on a person or an item to be illuminated. The apparatus has its own battery power supply mounted on a web of material. When the web is of pliant material, two opposed sides are provided with fasteners so that the web may be wrapped around an item or a person and the opposed sides then joined together to hold the apparatus in place. The battery is rechargeable, and a built-in battery charger is incorporated into the apparatus. Light emitters are powered by the battery and positioned to emit light that is readily seen.
