摘要： An illumination device functioning as both a flashlight and an area table lamp having a flexible neck that connects a light housing to a base. The illumination device includes at least one light source mounted in the light housing for projecting light through either a diffusing lens to function as an area light or a projecting lens to function as a flashlight. An improved flexible neck for an illumination device is also disclosed that has a dampening mechanism and a retaining mechanism disposed in an elongated solid resilient body. The retaining mechanism counters the resilient force of the resilient body to retain a selected position of the flexible neck while the dampening mechanism serves to dampen a bouncing effect that commonly occurs in flexible necks of flashlights.

摘要： A flashlight which includes a telescopic assembly for shade and a positioning assembling for a switch socket is provided. The telescopic assembly is facilitated by the slidable engagement between spiral grooves disposed at an outer wall of the headlight housing and projected bosses of the shade. When the shade is rotated, the shade is moved along the spiral grooves to extend or retract. The positioning assembly of the switch socket comprises a switch socket, a biasing plate and a water proof push button. The switch socket assembly is positioned by application of biasing plate. Consequently, excellent positioning and water proof effect are attained. The shade of the flashlight can be readily adjusted to move in for application of spotting an object or move out for application of a traffic signal baton.

The lamp assembly may include a lamp that includes a bulbous bottom portion and pointed top portion such that the lamp resembles a flame. An illumination modulation assembly is placed in an electrical circuit between the lamp and the electrical power source. The illumination modulation assembly includes both a circuit interrupter for causing illumination from the lamp to flicker in simulation of a flange and a dimmer assembly for dimming illumination provided by the lamp.

The detachable handles each include a latching mechanism capable of translating a magnet between a first position and a second position. A magnetically-actuated switch within the enclosure is used to turn off and on the light circuit. The handle is detachably mounted on the enclosure in a particular position so that the magnetically-actuated switch within the enclosure may be opened and closed by the magnet in the handle. In the preferred embodiments, a single enclosure may be utilized with either a pistol-style grip or a lantern-style grip. The ability to form the beam enclosure without penetrations is particularly useful in providing watertight and explosion-proof spotlights.

The improved system is designed to collimate substantially all of the available light emitted from a light source located at the common focus point and project the light along a projecting axis. Depending on the limitations placed upon the size of the parabolic reflector, a retroreflector situated about the periphery of the fresnel lens can be added to the system to maximize the amount of emitted light which the system can process and collimate.

摘要： A diver's flashlight having a unitary case with a closed transparent end for light transmission, the other end being sealed by a threaded plug which also serves as a switch. A halogen bulb is mounted in a reflector immediately inside the transparent end and a rechargable battery is held normally out of contact with the bulb by a spring. Tightening the threaded plug overcomes the spring and completes the circuit when the plug is fully seated in sealed position. The plug, and a cap fitted over the transparent end, are of luminous material for night use.

Thus, the lamp bulb (40) is lighted or turned off.
