摘要： A lubricant pump (14) and a method thereof are disclosed. The lubricant pump (14) includes a pump base (32) and a reservoir housing (30). The pump base (32) and the reservoir housing (30) define a lubricant reservoir for storing lubricant. One or more pump elements (34) extend at least partially into the lubricant reservoir. Heaters (36) are disposed on the pump base (32) proximate the pump elements (34). The heaters (36) are configured to heat the local area surrounding the pump elements (34), to thereby reduce the viscosity of the lubricant at the pump elements (34). The heaters (36) are electrically connected to a thermal switch (38) to control activation and deactivation of the heaters (36). With the lubricant pump (14) and the method thereof, the thermal switch (38) can control the heater (36) based on air temperature rather than the temperature of the lubricant, so the viscosity of lubricant is well controlled.

摘要： There is disclosed a tool for filtering a lubricant to meet a target ISO cleanliness code. The tool includes a skid-mounted integrated filtration system having a pump that circulates a flow of lubricant from an inlet port, through a heater, through a series of specifically sized filters, and past a digital particle counter. The filtration system also includes a user interface and a programmable logic controller (PLC) configured to track outputs from the pump, the oil heater, and the particle counter to monitor a cleanliness of the circulating lubricant. The filtration system also includes a filtration operations server in communication with the PLC and configured to implement a tracking and monitoring software application enabling control of the filtration system from the system itself or remotely through one or more remote user terminals such as a smartphone, a laptop or tablet computer, and the like. Other embodiments are disclosed.

摘要： A compressor includes an air cooled lubricant temperature regulator and an engine for providing motive force to the compressor. A first, electric-driven, self-priming pump provides a supply of lubricant to the compressor prior to starting the engine and for a predetermined period of time after the engine is operating. The first pump is flow connected in fluid receiving relation with a lubricant reservoir. A first electronic controller means directs compressor operations, including directing operation of the first pump. A second electronic controller, external to the first controller means, directs operation of the first pump after engine operation. A second, compressor-driven, self-priming pump provides a primary lubricant pumping function during engine operation at predetermined run speeds. A valve means is flow connected intermediate the discharge of the first pump and the discharge of the second pump for preventing lubricant cross flow between the first and second pumps during simultaneous operation thereof. The first pump preprimes the second pump to facilitate the self-priming duty of the second pump.

At least one operating element in the form of a throttle is coupled into the conduit at the pressure side of the pump for constricting the flow of oil through the conduit, and the pump is coupled with a source of power to be thereby driven. Thus, the temperature of the oil within the reservoir may be elevated by operation of the pump together with the operating element for improving upon the startability of the machine or engine and for sustaining early operation after the start of the machine or engine.

摘要： A lubricating system which is completely self contained within the vacuum environment of an electric direct drive system for an ultracentrifuge rotor. The lubricating system also functions as a cooling means for an electric motor within the drive system by the use of a unique cooling feed tube in the central portion of the drive system. An orifice in the top of the cooling feed tube will control the head of the lubricating medium within the system. Specific design of the fit between the direct drive assembly and the drive housing in conjunction with the head on the lubricating medium will regulate the drip rate of the lubricating medium to the bearings. The use of the unique lubrication and cooling system maintains the close tolerances of the various elements such as the high speed bearings of the drive system because the temperature of the overall drive system is controlled.
