    • A domestic water distribution system that continuously delivers heated water to one or more hot water faucets. The system utilizes a convective return loop from the desired faucets, which is regulated by a flow control device. The control device is specifically designed to allow unhindered flow during circulation without allowing reverse flow when a faucet is opened. The flow control device has an easily accessible handwheel adjustment that is used to select the three modes of operation and the flow rate. These modes are called: HELD-ON, HELD-OFF, and NORMAL-OPERATION. With the first two modes being used to fill and flush the system as is necessary with new installation and recreation vehicles. Also, a lighter-than-water checking element is used, which allows the system to function in single-level plumbing installations without the need for inclined supply and return routing. The circulation is further assured by having the plumbing return and cold water supply connected to the base of the water heater, which creates a flushing action of sediment that accumulates inside and since plumbing insulation is not restricted, heat loss is limited.

    • To constitute a poppet valve with a heater by providing a heater which heats a valve member at a fixed position inside valve casing without attaching the heater to the valve member, a rod or the like which is a movable member as necessary.     • A counter-flow prevention valve is disposed within a body of a pilot-type channel valve. While electrical power is applied to a solenoid coil and the pilot-type channel valve is opened, i.e., while a gas is flowing through the counter-flow prevention valve and the gas is expanding, heat generated by the application of electrical power to the solenoid coil is conducted via the body and is effectively transferred to the counter-flow prevention valve. Therefore, even if the gas contains water vapor and even if this gas is cooled due to significant expansion, the water vapor can be prevented from freezing within the counter-flow prevention valve. Moreover, the volume of the pipe between the pilot-type channel valve and the counter-flow prevention valve is small, thereby resulting in a fast rise in pressure within the pipe and a quick opening of the counter-flow prevention valve, which provides an excellent valve-opening response.

    • A thermostatically controlled bypass valve for bypassing water away from a hot water valve until the water temperature reaches a desired level at a fixture in use for home or industrial applications. The bypass valve has a valve body with a thermally sensitive actuator disposed between the hot water inlet and discharge ports and the cold water inlet and discharge ports that is thermally responsive to the temperature of the water. A bias spring pushes against the piston on the thermal actuator to close the actuator and open a passage between the cold and hot water sides when water needs to be bypassed. When the water from the hot water heater reaches the desired temperature level at the bypass valve, the bypass valve closes and hot water is made available to the hot water side of the fixture. Until then, the thermal actuator remains open and cold or tepid water is allowed to bypass the hot water side of the fixture. Flexible hoses attach the inlet and discharge ports on the hot and cold water sides to the hot and cold water supply systems and the hot and cold water valves on the fixture. A check valve can be placed on the cold water side to prevent the flow of cold water through the bypass valve when only the hot water side is flowing. The bypass valve can used as part of a water circulating system having a pump placed in the hot water piping system that can also include a pump check valve for bypassing high flows around the pump and a flow rate switch for turning off the pump. The bypass valve can be incorporate integrally into the fixture.
