    • A device for a clutch which is subject to wear brought about by friction, especially for motor vehicles, for signaling that a wear limit has been reached. The clutch has a pressure plate which is connected, via tangential leaf springs, with a clutch housing so as to be fixed with respect to rotation relative to it, but so as to be axially displaceable, and by way of which a clutch disk provided with friction linings can be pressed against a flywheel of an internal combustion engine. The device has two structural component parts which can be clamped against one another, one of which structural component parts is arranged so as to be movable in the radial direction. A clamping of the structural component parts can be canceled when the wear limit is reached, wherein a movable structural component part springs into another radial position and remains there.

The release mechanism 10 moves the plate 51 away from the clutch disk 82 by applying a load to the assembly 8. The relative rotation limiting mechanism connects the assembly 8 to a member disposed on the crankshaft side by the load applied from the release mechanism 10 to the assembly 8.

    • A clutch drum 15 is configured to reduce the weight of a clutch drum while keeping the mechanical losses of the clutch drum 15 in check. The clutched drum 15 houses several clutch plates 17 and has a cylindrical part 23 and a plurality of the teeth 25 that are arranged circumferentially around the inside of the cylindrical part 23 and extend in the axial direction. The teeth 25 have tooth cusps 29 and tooth flanks 31 on both rotational-direction sides. Bottom lands 35 are formed on the inside surface of the cylindrical part 23 between the teeth 25 in the axial direction. The outside recesses 37 are formed on the portions of the outside surface of the cylindrical part 23 that correspond to the teeth 25 and the inside recesses 27 are formed on the inside surfaces of the teeth 25.

    • An improved lubrication system for a ball ramp master clutch and a gear change transmission is disclosed where a lubricant pump is driven by the input shaft to a ball ramp mechanism which, when energized, applies a clamping force on a clutch pack where lubricant is supplied to the pump from a wet sump on the transmission and then lubricant is forced into the clutch assembly and also forced into the gear shaft transmission for eventual return into the sump for recirculation. In an alternate embodiment, a dry sump system is used where the oil flowing out of the transmission is pumped to dry sump where it is then recirculated to the pump.

    • A hydraulic damper (10) for damping vibrations in the fluid flow path between a hydraulic pressure source and an associated hydraulic consumer comprises a cylinder (11) having a bore (19). A piston (12) is sidably received in the bore and has a sealing means (30) in contact with the bore to define on one side of the sealing means a first chamber (13) for connection with the hydraulic pressure source and on the other side of the sealing means a second chamber (14) for connection with the associated hydraulic consumer. The cylinder has a sealing zone (20) which in a first operative state of the damper is contacted by the sealing means. The piston (12) is capable in response to an increase in hydraulic pressure in the first chamber (13) of moving in the bore to reduce the volume of the second chamber (14) such that eventually the sealing means (30) moves out of the sealing zone to open fluid flow means (22) through which hydraulic fluid can flow from the first chamber to the second chamber. The piston is also being capable in response to an increase in hydraulic pressure in the second chamber (14) of moving in the bore to reduce the volume of the first chamber (13) such that eventually the sealing means moves out of the sealing zone to open fluid flow means (21) through which hydraulic fluid can flow from the second chamber to the first chamber.
