    • A fluid flow controller and method of operation thereof are presented. The fluid flow controller may include a casing having a casing blade. The fluid flow controller may also include a rotor having a first rotor blade and a second rotor blade radially spaced from the first rotor blade. The rotor may be configured to rotate relative to, and preferably within, the casing such that the casing blade passes between the first and second rotor blades during use. Compared to conventional pumps or compressors, the present fluid flow controller may have an enhanced ability to accelerate (and possibly to subsequently pressurize) fluid flow. Thus, the need to use multiple stages may be reduced or eliminated.

    • The present invention relates to an improved fluid handling system including an improved collection trough and pump assembly. A centrifugal pump is mounted in the path of cutting fluid that needs to be pumped from a collection system and discharged. A wide and narrow inlet mouth lies very low on the factory floor enabling the centrifugal pump to be mounted right on the floor and not within the floor. An optional vacuum system provides suction within the centrifugal pump that aids in priming the pump at start up and in removing air from a pump chamber within the pump, thus allowing more efficient pumping to take place. An impeller rotates within the pump creating a vortex within the pump chamber which facilitates movement of dirty cutting fluid including metal particles to be pumped through to a discharge outlet.

In order to manufacture the component part for a radial-flow variable capacity turbine, in which the actuating gas is forced to flow from a spiral scroll formed in the turbine casing to a turbine rotor in a radial direction, through multiple nozzle vanes of which the angle is adjustable by an adjustable nozzle mechanism, for rotating the turbine rotor, this manufacturing method according to this invention is distinguished by the configuration in which a column shaped connecting pin is formed as a single structure with a plate member by a pressing, or a precision molding by partially forcing the surface of the plate member to protrude in a column shape.
