    • The present invention comprises two complementary gear wheels each of which have a plurality of vanes fixed to the interior faces thereof. The vanes are interlocked in overlapping relationship and the gears are free to rotate independently of one another at different speeds so as to cause the gaps or chambers between the vanes to vary depending upon the changes in the relative speed of the two wheels with respect to one another. Various means are provided for driving the two wheels independently of one another at varying speed ratios. Chain and sprockets may be used, or complementary gears of varying shapes and having different numbers of lobes may be used to accomplish different patterns of movement of the two wheels with respect to one another. Furthermore, variable drive means may be provided for driving the two wheels so as to provide positive control of the variance in the movement of the two wheels.

    • Provided is a scroll compressor having an improved structure in which reliability of a compression portion can be enhanced. The scroll compressor includes a compression unit that compresses a refrigerant introduced into a body, wherein the compression unit may include: a fixed scroll fixed into the body and having an ejection hole and a fixed wrap placed at an outside of the ejection hole; and an orbiting scroll orbiting with respect to the fixed scroll and having an orbiting wrap that constitutes a compression chamber together with the fixed wrap, and wherein the orbiting wrap may include: an outer contact portion formed at an outside surface of the orbiting wrap and being adjacent to the ejection hole; and an inner contact portion formed at an inside surface of the orbiting wrap, being adjacent to the ejection hole and connected to the outer contact portion, and the compression chamber includes a first compression chamber formed when the outer contact portion contacts a first position of an inside surface of the fixed wrap at an ejection starting time of the refrigerant, and the outer contact portion is connected to the inner contact portion along a circumference of a first center circle formed to contact the first position at the ejection starting time of the refrigerant, and a center of the first center circle is placed on a normal line of the first position.

    • A fluid machinery is disclosed which is able to assure a large compression volume without an increase in size and achieve high compressibility by suppressing leakage from sealing, thereby improving the reliability. In the fluid machinery, a second spiral 13 having a spiral inner engaging surface 17 formed to have a stepped shape in section is engaged with a first spiral 15 having an outer engaging surface 21 with a stepped sectional shape which rises upwardly from an outer peripheral side to a central side in a spiral manner, so that sealed spaces 25 are formed to cause reduction in volume of sealed spaces in both radial and height directions from a peripheral side to a central side. A closed spaces 35 having an inclination surface 19 is formed between a stepped surface of the outer engaging surface 21 of the first spiral 15 and a stepped surface of the inner engaging surface 17 of the second spiral 13. A spiral member 37 having a slant surface 39 which engages always with the inclination surfaces 19 is provided in the sealed spaces 35 so as to seal the lower pressure sealed spaces 25 and the higher pressure sealed spaces 25.
