摘要： A continuous miner having improvements therein for enabling the same to be advanced in a coal seam having a shortwall face extending concavely arcuate from one side wall defining one end thereof to another side wall defining the other end thereof about an axis spaced outwardly thereof in a cycle which includes positioning the continuous miner adjacent one end of the arcuate face of the coal seam, effecting a pivotal movement of the continuous miner across the face to a position adjacent the other end thereof about an axis spaced from the axis of the face both in a direction toward the face and in a direction toward said other end thereof to progressively remove a section of coal from the seam which extends inwardly of the face a distance which increases progressively in the direction of movement across the face and to progressively define an advanced face which extends concavely arcuate about said spaced axis of pivotal movement and then effecting a pivotal movement of the continuous miner across the advanced face from said other end to a position adjacent said one end about an axis spaced from the axis of said advanced face both in a direction toward the advanced face and in a direction toward said one end thereof to progressively remove a section of coal from the seam which extends inwardly of the advanced face a distance which increases progressively in the direction of movement across the advanced face and to progressively define a further advanced face which extends concavely arcuate about the spaced axis of the last mentioned pivotal movement.

摘要： In the drive system according to the invention for a cutting machine which can be moved along a chain conveyor and has a pin drive chain arranged in a chain receptacle of the chain conveyor, the pin drive chain is attached at each of its two ends to a hydraulic tensioning cylinder device, with the aid of which the chain slackness which forms in the pin drive chain can be compensated. At the same time, holding devices, such as end stops, are provided in the region of the tensioning cylinder devices, which holding devices support or fix the chain section of the pin drive chain which is respectively under tensile loading.

摘要： Apparatus for anchoring a mining installation to the floor of a mine working includes an anchor beam and means for anchoring the anchor beam. A trolley is mounted on the anchor beam for longitudinal movement relative thereto. A guide skid is pivotally connected, at one end, to the trolley and one end of a support skid is pivotally connected to the other end of the guide skid. The other end of the support skid is pivotally connected to a support table for the mining installation, whereby the support table can pivot in a vertical plane. A support strut pivotally connected to both the guide skid and the support table holds the support table firmly at a given inclination.
